This is the best hidden object game I’ve ever played.
Now, it’s not like I’ve played a ton of them. At this point I’d say I’d played at least a dozen, maybe closer to twenty, and I have another half-dozen to play. But this one… oh. This one is so good.
Going from playing an older Artifex Mundi game to this really brings into focused how much it had matured as a company. Everything is better. The art, the 3D models and simulations, the story, the experience direction w/r/t level design and tone and pacing. The voice acting! That One Lady returns as the lead but holy shit when she emotes, she EMOTES.This character also delivers the most badass line uttered in any hidden object game, and it’s right up there among badass game lines in any genre: ‘I’m coming for you, Preacher. You’d better say a prayer… for yourself.’ Jesus christ, right?
Like, this game opens on your plane crashing and you struggle to not get sucked out of the cockpit. Artifex Mundi grabbed the boundaries with what is standard with 2D experiences and shoved them down some stairsteps. There was such a fluidity in this game, such a level of detail. There are a dozen or more hidden object scenes and you only play through each one once!!! That’s crazy!
If you’re playing hidden object games for the monthly theme, do not pass this one up. If you’re not already a hidden object fan and want to see what the fuss is about, this is (SO FAR) the pinnacle. Just beware: it’s (mostly) downhill from here.
I really hope you guys forgive me for literally posting twice in twenty four hours. I picked a hidden object game I was really excited to play because… tomorrow/today is my birthday! (June 9th) I also wanted to give myself a little mini-birthday present (I’ll be giving myself myriad full-sized birthday presents near the end of the month during the steam sale) by hand-picking what game I want to play next. Treating myself just a little bit, if you will.
Next up: Horror.

Thank you for your enthusiastic report and congratulations on your progression through this month’s theme. I haven’t played this one yet, but it always struck me as having lots of collectibles (Widow’s Sorrows wth?, White feathers, and morphing objects)…I always worry about missing one and not being able to go back…and having to replay the game (ugh).
And most importantly– Happy Birthday, Super Sundere! that’s how I pronounce it, at least…I don’t know your intention
Now you can rest assured that if your kids grow up like me, they’ll continue to be thrilled by squinting at a screen for ten minutes and swearing viciously when something you were looking for was right in front of your face the whole time.

Oh good, I’m glad that’s the pronunciation. It’s so much better than “stupert sundere” which was my other thought… :P

Just finished the Demon hunter series and - surprise! - I liked the third game best! Now, we didn’t see that one coming, did we? ;)

I’m not a big cake gal, but I did schedule massages for myself, my mom, and my girlfriend for tomorrow, AND I just polished up my resume and applied to a job paying literally twice what I’m making now so I’m riding a burst of adult adrenaline YEAH!
I have the demon hunter games on my wishlist - good things DO come in threes, so I’m excited for that, too.
I’ve been putting money aside for the past few months so I am ready and prepared for that dang sale. It’s like going into war! I’m also deferring several presents with “ahhh just buy me something in the sale!”

See, I’d love to have cakes like that as decorations because they are so, so pretty - but I don’t like the texture/consistency of most cakes. Too dry? Too much frosting? Cheesecakes are my go-to cakes.
And, yes, girlfriend-girlfriend c: since… oh, god, I don’t know when our anniversary counts as. Her birthday is on Sunday (I’m only two days older) so we usually celebrate together on the day in between.
