Update Twelve: 23 June 2017
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
I… can’t believe I’m saying this… but I’m getting a little burnt out on hidden object games ._. This is usually why I try to vary extensively what genres I’ve played recently, and not to play too similar of a game in a row. I’m getting faster and faster at these shits, but actually playing them has been feeling soooo much slower. This is an unforeseen danger of the monthly theme, something I’ll keep in mind in the future. I do want to play one more hidden object game before the week is out, but I think that will end up being late next week, maybe thursday or something.
On to this particular game - it’s competent. It’s actually the most charming out of all this-phase Artifex Mundi hidden object games, and I can’t put my finger on why. Maybe how good the simulations of items moving/being applied are? Funnily enough, I think this is the first hidden object game I’ve played where the person you’re playing is a complete blank slate - no voice, no name, no gender. This is the first hidden object game where you MIGHT not be playing as a girl! Shocker!! (I love that about hidden object games, how they’re overwhelmingly female c: c: c: )
Besides that, the puzzles you’ve ALL seen before, the hidden object scenes are dark and it’s hard to pick out what objects are what. It’s just a lot of the same. I don’t think hidden object games are meant to be played so often close together n_n;;;;;;;
I had a small procedure done today, and between treating myself abt that and after the new hall I got, I decided, fuck it! I’m gonna play a game I just bought! (Crazy!) I asked my girlfriend, and she picked…
Next up: I’m always watching.
See you soon!

EDIT LOL
I’ve never managed to catch milestones before, but with the completion of Fairy Tale Mysteries, I’ve reached 5,000 achievements!
Here’s to many more, and to a higher percentage!
reached 5,000 achievements!
And then you can play one of those new achievement-spam trash games that give 2-8000 within 1 hour of “playtime” xD
(it’s a shame)
Yeah, those are very….. odd. I mean I have both Slash It games (haven’t played yet) but I’d much rather get achievements for…. doing stuff?
Congrats on the milestone and that amazing completion rate!
Have “fun” with Orwell (It’s not really “fun” per se but I found the game extremely compelling and I had a great time).
Thank you, Black Sheep!
and I’m totally okay without having ‘fun’ while playing a video game. Whether this comes off a pretentious or not, I really disagree with the Nintendo frame of mind where every game has to be ‘fun’.
It’s like… are all books ‘fun’? Are you going to walk out of, idk, Schindler’s List or Twelve Angry Men and go ‘wow, what a FUN movie!’ Some stories just aren’t meant to be ‘fun’, they’re meant to be compelling, like you said.
It’s a whole medium! the whole medium can’t be ONE thing. There’s room for Bridesmaids and Gone Girl, and there’s room for Splatoon and Orwell.
I totally agree on the whole thing. Orwell goes in the same basket than This War of Mine or Paper Please. Sure sometimes they can make you think and be a bit depressing, yet they’re compelling and there’s room for both that and games like Splatoon ;)
Will look forward to read your thoughts about Orwell in your next update :)
PS: added you on steam, i hope you don’t mind :3
Congratulations on the 5k! :)
Nice, congrats on your achievement milestone :) Also, 90% completion rate, great job!
OMG your stats! Great work!
I actually really loved Puppet Thief, but I don’t know why. :D Maybe it was just that tiny bit different. Played it ages ago, but it still one of my absolutely favourite ones – I’m getting slightly burned out with the genre as well. At least they are quick completions. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Congrats on the milestone…and yeah, it’s possible to get burnt out on HOGs for a bit…they’re mostly so “samey.” If you want something a little bit different, try Adam Wolfe (as long as you don’t mind playing as a male). It still has that HOG feel, but it adds some new wrinkles.
Yeah, you know? I think I will! I SUPPOSE I could handle playing a dude again IF I MUST but I’ve heard such good things about it, I’m more than happy to close up hidden object game june with it.
Good…tell me what you think of it. :)
…I don’t think hidden object games are meant to be played so often close together…
I completely agree, I’ve played more this month than I have during any prior 6 month period and it’s all I see when I am trying to fall asleep ;_;
I’m so jealous of your % :o
Congrats on the milestone and for keeping that 90% ratio. Amazing! :)
