I’m writing this before I head to work so I’m going to keep it brief -
Your Smile Beyond Twilight is a Chinese VN that’s honestly better than I thought it would be. The translation is pretty good - it’s not clunky and it’s able to get across the depth of the topics its talking about. The story is decently unique - holy shit! You’re playing as an actual adult! - and the self-reflection the protag does is pretty nice.
This coulda been a contender for a spot on my list but for one thing: it’s just short. It’s a little too short to really land the emotional punches it wanted to land with, spending too much time to set everything up and not enough time to have a weighty struggle or follow through.
It’s lightweight throughout - only a handful of CGs, only two sets of sprites with like three expressions each - that produces a lightweight result overall. Not bad by any means, just not enough to really satisfy.
It was okay!
… I haven’t added anything to my list since June <:c I gotta read some really good VNs!!

I agree with Your Smile Beyond Twilight. The story was good but I couldn’t connect to the characters or the emotional impact because of how short it was.
It didn’t need to be incredibly long - just another handful of hours would’ve made all the difference! I’m a little miffed. So close!!!

I’m liking it, despite these grown ass women looking like grade schoolers. The music and the interface reminds me STRONGLY of the Zero Escape series so I’m endeared.
I’ll probably be playing it for the next two months tho lol yaaaaaay.
