Title: Tenrow Developer: Cleverweek Publisher: Cleverweek Release date: 2016-04-08 Regular price: 2,99 € Bundled: ☑Yes ☐No Achievements: ☑Yes ☐No Cards: ☑Yes ☐No
Completed Tenrow the other day.
A kind of short puzzle game, a vague mix of Minesweeper and Nonograms.
There are 50 levels to solve so completion time may vary, depending on how quick you are at grasping how everything works.
Personally, it took me less than an hour: I struggled a bit in the first 10-15 levels, after that point I kind of understood the basic of the game and progressed smoothly to the end.
Achievements are only 4: change the colors palette once, and beat levels 15, 26 and 34.
Doesn’t make much sense to me. Someone even asked in the game’s hub if they’re gonna add achievement(s) for beating the game and devs simply said “No”. Wow
Also, some levels were immediate, giving me the feel they didn’t put much effort in creating ‘em.. like they know people who like these kind of games is going to buy ‘em anyway.
Don’t know.. most of their games have interesting concepts but are poorly made.. perhaps they’re just inexperienced and aren’t doing these things with bad intents, perhaps not..
Surely, if you ever played any of their games, all those soundtracks DLCs do not make you think “nice thoughts”; I know many people likes to listen to soundtrack even when not playing, I like it too, but these games basically have no soundtracks.. how can you sell those? just give ‘em free! Two Digits’ soundtrack costs 4€ (twice the game) and has only 1 track. ONE. Seriously? Singers and bands sell their songs much cheaper!
Until I’m sure of what their real intentions are I think I’ll be more cautious toward Cleverweek’s games.
Until now I’ve played Tenrow itself; Two Digits, which wasn’t bad (again, playability could be improved); recently started Three Digits (obviously made because of Two Digits “success” but is not as good as that), playability hasn’t been improved and calculation are harder, bringing more frustration than anything, don’t know if I’ll ever complete this one; Snik, which I even had wishlisted and was a huge disappointment.
Missing The Growth Journey and Swiftly, and I have no intention to play them after said experience with Snik; Permute, which doesn’t look interesting; and Multimirror, which I’m still entering GAs for it, even though I’m not so sure it’s going to be a good game (reading reviews, at least). Let’s say I’m giving them another chance.. all in all I like this kind of games =P it just saddens me how poorly they’re made :(
..oh, and Tenrow ended so quick that I still need to drop 1 card!
I give up playing 2/3 digits, the puzzle concept didn’t click with me… (I like Hexcell series btw)
