Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star

And with this I completed my current Challenge me! challenge. Holiday Star is set during the Christmas holidays and before the ending of the original Hatoful Boyfriend, but it contains spoilers so you cannot play this for first. It's definitely shorter (half the length?) than the original Hatoful.
The story is not that important so if you only own the first but not this one you're not missing much, but I was finally able to find out a little more about some characters. I wished I played this sooner since I had forgotten most of the story so I had to spend quite some time on the wiki to recall everything that happened.

I know its really different and you waited a long time between the two, but overall would you recommend this one? I really loved the first HB but I’ve been on the fence about this dlc for a while.
I think I would. It doesn’t add much to the main story, but it’s nice to see those characters interact again.
I bought it when it was on sale for like 2 eur, and I wouldn’t buy it for the whole price.
My “problem” with Holiday Star is that they expect you to know why Sakura don’t like Yuuya, why Anghel talks like he’s mental or why noone like Shuu.
You played in original game, so even though you don’t remember much about plot, you do recall connections between characters. And it’s not true for people that would start with DLC (they’d have to spoil their fun of original game and read wiki like you did to understand what’s going on). Hence I think it’s strongly advised to beat original game firstly (or at least play this standalone DLC during winter break of original game). So it’s additional point agains playing DLC first ;P
Yes, the game expects you to know already the characters and the BBL ending, otherwise you’ll just be confused on everything that is happening.
