Update One Hundred and One: 26 December 2017
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
How was everyone’s holidays? Were they nice? I hope so. Mine was! The past few days have been exhausting - having parties here or going out to parties every day. While I’ve had fun, I’m glad I have some time now to be quiet and play some games.
tsupertsundere and tsupergirlfriend hope your holidays were great, and your new year is even better!
Normally I like to play games in order, but I won Eventide 2 before Eventide, so unfortunately I just had to play it first! I don’t think I needed to play the first one - beyond one or two references the story was just what it was.
Which was pretty okay! Eventide continues with its Slavic folklore theming, bringing you to a town on a quest to save your kidnapped niece. There’s the aforementioned sorcerer and his aforementioned mirror that brings dead townsfolk back to life so their loved ones can talk to them. He’s taken your niece to revive his dead beloved wife and… well, it’s a hidden object game, so you stop it.
The art is nice, and the voice acting is too (although unfortunately the Artifex Mundi lady does not make an appearance). This game also has surprisingly good 3D animation - there’s a big jump in quality from Endless Fables to this one.
The biggest thing about this title, though, is… this game has choices you can make! Choices that impact the story!!! … except… they don’t, at all, period. There’s an achievement that involves playing through the game twice, to make all the opposite choices you made the first time. The game is also bugged in the way that once you finish the game once, you must play it through again immediately or you’ll be locked out of the achievement. That was more than a little annoying, but the game is short enough that both playthroughs took me 3 hours total.
Next up: As a holiday treat, the next few games I play are games I’ve gotten that I’m MAD excited about. First off -
See you soon!
Yesss what LastM said you two looks happy and cute together
I can relate to going to tons and tons of parties and flipping between different families these past few days >.> (my parents are getting married?!)
ccc: Thank you!
God, it’s so weird. I hope that’s a good surprise reaction to your parents’ marriage! If it isn’t, I can relate - my mom’s been talking about getting engaged to her boyfriend, which is….. it….. weird….. they’be been dating for only a year….. hrrrgrgrg
Aaaaaw, you two look soooooo cute! <3
My holidays were pretty nice actually. This was the first year we didn’t do the traveling stuff we used to - visiting relatives and such - so it was relaxing and quiet. It was for most parts only my parents and me. My brother and his waifu came round for a visit today (26th) and we had a nice time - which is not always the standard, so that was awesome! <3
And just now I treated myself to one lase xmas present. We’ll see when I get round to playing that one :D
Have an awesome New Years Eve!
Happy killing 2018!
Ohhhh that sounds so lovely. Usually we don’t travel either and I…. prefer hosting. Even if it means I have to prepare, I like having people come here and leave. I love playing on home turf.
I’m glad there was no strife, and that you got to have time with your loved ones. Happy killing 2018! Enjoy your last present c;
Well both can be a kind of stress - hosting and visiting. But then again it can both be super nice. And if you’re more the host, that’s great :)
Ha! I will! It’s Sims 4 pets! bounce :D
You guys looks adorable!
I basically sat around the house with family - splurged and got “Slime Rancher” and “Finding Paradise” along with a few smaller games xP And yes, that $20 was a splurge because I am leaving for a trip soon and have like, no money for food while I’m gone :,) I’m smart. But Hiveswap looks awesome - I wanted to get it, but cut myself off xP
And that bug sounds really, really annoying :/ Damn. Well, at least you knew about it before you played it I hope?
Actually, just noticed I’m only $2 away from getting Hiveswap with steam wallet… we’ll see »
I just finished it Riley and I enjoyed it! It didn’t blow my mind or anything, but if you want the roman emperor thumbs up… you got one!
I can definitely say it has the most gorgeous set design of any point and click I’ve played, and the animation is lovely.
The bit I’ve seen of it looks really good, and I mean, it is only $5 so it doesn’t need to be amazing. I’m glad you enjoyed it!! I’ll definitely see how many more cards I can sell before the sale ends, and maybe pitch in that last bit xP
It definitely is a strong opening act. I’ve been having a lot of success selling cards (and Hiveswap cards go for a decent chunk of money!)
Oooh, nice! Just got some new ones from idling (but now my idling is all done :,) ) that are worth about 10 cents each. I have about 100 cards up right now »
Meh, my holidays were just me at home, playing video games or watching TV series.
Aww… look at you two, you look adorable! I actually don’t know which one of you has blue hair (I’m fairly new here!), but I approve wolf paws up xD
I can’t really comment on the game, I think I only have one or two HOGs in my steam library and I only played a little bit of it– not really my thing, alas.
All the best to you two going into the new year! :)
As long as that was restful and joyful for you, I think that makes it a great holiday c:
Thank you very much! I’m the one with blue hair, and I appreciate your compliment.
I wish you the same, wolf! Happy nearly 2018!
I know I’m hopping on the bandwagon here, but that’s a great pic and I love the smiles! ^_^
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you, too! Thank you very much :DD
You 2 look cure together! I like that your hair color match the color on your avatar. My ocd is very pleased right now. xD
I can’t comment on the game since I haven’t played any Artifex Mundi games in a while. I got a bit bored of them, especially after playing Adam Wolfe, which I found better than any AM game I played. You should try it, if you haven’t done that yet.
Anyway, congrats and have fun with Hiveswap!
Thank you very much, M! I do try to keep things on brand as much as I can c;
Yeah… the more hidden object games I play, the more they’re the same. They’re like slipping into warm fuzzy socks, though - the same feeling, but a comforting fun feeling all the same. I just try to play them spaced out to not get tired of the feel.
