Juniper’s Knot is a free, very short kinetic novel - the first enterprise of creator Dischan Media - about a demon girl trapped in one spot, and a boy who stumbles upon her. I’ve heard good things about it… but, unfortunately, it didn’t reach me.

The biggest problem I had with this short experience, and why unfortunately I can’t recommend it, was that I felt that the language was very clumsy. The demon girl had been trapped in an abandoned church for an unspecified but long stretch of time, and one way that’s highlighted is that she speaks in a very old fashioned way, and that she and the both misunderstand each other a lot at first. That’s a great idea, but the execution is poor - the way they both speak doesn’t feel very natural. It kept me from being able to engage with the story - which, overall, I thought it was okay.

This game is short and free so you can check it out if you’d like with nothing to lose. I am glad to see Dischan grow as a dev.
