Okay. Well. That wasn’t very good.

Never give up! is a really short VN I picked up for, like, a dollar. The art is the only thing really going for it - I of course wasn’t expecting anything in particular and was still let down. Any given route probably takes at max an hour to get through, and most routes share a lot of the same content. There’s a lot of skipping.

This wasn’t written originally in English, and the translation is poor. Not even in the sense of typos or grammar errors - though there are lots of those - but the localization is just… bad. The translation is too literal, and the misuse of words is really immersion breaking. For example - ‘My mind became obscure’, when they meant foggy, or distant, or hazy. It just comes across as unprofessional and childish.

‘Childish’ is also where I’d peg the audience range - this is really meant for tween girls. The little-to-no characterization, the tropey, flat character types, the MC who cries all the time and doesn’t make a single active choice that isn’t tripping and falling - it’s certainly an immature story.

Really only pick this up if you want to look at pretty elves (the art IS lovely) and you’re very desperate for a new VN, a VN for girls, or an easy 100%.
