Evolve

First of all i didn’t have too much time for gaming so it’s a monthly update instead of my usual 15 days.
Secondly i don’t have any LEGO games for the theme so i decided to play some games from the second list. I’ve beaten CiM and Prison architect but i also tried Besiege (and found out than i’m not creative enough though i managed to beat the first 15 levels) and Tropico 1 (i loved Tropico 3 and 4 but the first one didn’t age well, building things is hard as there’s no explainable reason why i can’t place it “there” so in the end the city looks like it was built by a completely drunk and crazy dictator, also the graphics caused the eye strain so i had to abandon it, maybe i’ll give it more chances later).

Cities in Motion
A transportation net builder simulator game. It's decently made but feels lacking in pretty much every aspect and gets boring very quickly, i still managed to finish the campaign, though for the last couple of levels i was bored to hell and just prayed for it to end.
Not a bad game but very shallow and the campaign drags far beyond the reasonable completion time. Play OTTD instead if you're interested in this type of game.

Prison Architect
A very fun building simulator and i enjoyed it a lot. You design a prison and try expand it and make profit while dealing with the inmates needs and troubles that they can cause. Overall it's pretty well done but in the end i just wanted to play Dwarf Fortress again.
The best prison-building game that i know about! Very fun, but in the end i wished for Dwarf Fortress to have the GUI of that game.

Broken Age
A fun p'n'c game with an interesting story and characters. First part of the game is great, but the second part felt worse though still pretty good. I wish a couple of puzzles weren't in the game as well as a couple of achievements. I played through the game 3.5 times, 1 normal while exploring everything, 1 for achievements with a guide, 1 for the speedrun achievement and 0.5 cause of the stupid spoon achievement didn't want to trigger for some reason even though i used it on everything starting from the first walkthrough.
A pretty fun p'n'c game, though the second part felt rushed. If you're a fan of this type of games then go ahead and play this one!

Cogs
A fun little puzzle game. Puzzles are pretty much of a slider type, but with a mechanical forces redirection twist (cogs and gas pipes). Not much else to say about it aside of it's a good game.
Like sliding puzzles? Try this one.

Dear Esther: Landmark Edition
A walking simulator, the first of a kind. The original was probably the only game that i bought on Steam without any discount and i never regretted anything. It was the most beautiful game i've ever seen and it was made on an already outdated Source engine! They ported the game to the Unity engine which enhanced some effects, added some minor things and added the developer commentaries which i didn't like cause they didn't match the pacing of the game as i had to wait out before triggering the next commentary or at times they ended far before i reached the next one.
I recommend it to anyone who likes walking simulators!

Thanks for the update, Evolve. Yeah, it sounds like that’s the consensus on Broken Age: great first half; rushed second half. I haven’t played it myself.
I bought Dear Esther with a discount :P as one of my first Steam games in May 2012. I enjoyed it, but if you can believe it, I actually got stuck and needed a hint from an online friend how to proceed! Not one of my strongest gaming moments. I do want to go back and try the Landmark Edition.
