Now, this is a silly game!
But I already knew it, that's why I wanted to play it ;)
The occasion was brought by the april "Challenge me!" theme, where Formidolosus answered to my request of being challenged with a nice list that included Octodad.
As usual, I didn't perform very well, beating only 1 of 5 games and starting a 2nd one (Day of the Tentacle); the other 3 still remain unscathed.
Back to Octodad, I really liked it :)
It made me smile and chuckle right enough to made me forget all the difficult sections scattered throughout the game.
Difficulty mostly due to the fact that you're controlling an invertebrate =P
And since I've played it together with NORTH and 35MM, it contrasted that heavy atmosphere they had created, cheering me up :)
In case you don't know anything about it, you're helping an octopus disguised as human to keep his real identity hidden from others. Nothing serious but, as already said, some parts can be frustrating, especially timed ones.
Tried both with keyboard/mouse and controller, some things are easier with the former, others with the latter.
Yup, not much to say about it, game's not very long (I'd say about 2-3 hours) but you'll end up spending more due to the controls/movements. If you also want to earn every achievement, it's going to be even longer, as you'll need both skills and luck.
If you are in for some chuckles and a "light" time, go for it :) Until you get stuck somewhere and rage-quit =P
I didn't have the patience to get every achievement but I can totally see myself coming back to this in the future to complete it :)
Estimated total reading time: ~1½'

I really need to get to play this one. It seems super silly but very fun :D Congrats on the assassination :)
While I think it’s not a game that everyone can like, if you got “nice feelings” from what you’ve seen so far, I think you’ll enjoy it :)
Thanks ^_^
Like you said, it’ll be perfect after some “heavier” themed games. Not everything has to be full of meaning, sometimes cute and giggles is what you need.
Yup :)
better, I agree =P
LoooooL that video, thanks for sharing XD
You’re welcome!
