Blue Ϟ Lightning
Hob is my last
Heres the thing and I don't know if I will be able to properly explain how beautiful this game is.
Because while it has nice(ish) graphics, as a still scene they aren't all that impressive.
What truly makes this game stunning are its animations.
Every part of the environment twists and turns falls away- locks with other things and then spins around with steampunk gears and pulleys. At moments you will pull a lever and the ground beneath you will fall away as the section you thought was solid spins over to a new area.
This is the only gif I can find to try and describe it but it still does not do the game justice in any way.
As a game itself however I don't know what to say. Its definitely not bad but it does get rather dull at times with its "pull a leaver open up a new area then try to find the next leaver to pull" repeat for 13 hours...routine.
It has tones of secrets for you to find and I spent part of the game trying to get all of them but I recently gave up and just went straight to the end cause I was getting bored.
I'm not dissing it its a great game but the combat is dull and the main part of the game is finding the next lever.
At least its not always a "lever" the game defenitly throws in some variety-a rock you shove your sword into a lever and rope you pull a glowing button you push a bar you smash a box you push into a crevice etc etc etc...
at the end of the day its all the same but the fact that the animations that appear when you do complete each task are so fun to watch you end up looking forwards to most of them.
Bunch of Screeshots The problem is that's all it has to offer.
Some pretty animations and soothing atmosphere.
I liked it...and it feels like the sort of game that will get an honorable mention at an indie fair...but nothing that will win first place.
I do recommend it-I still have plenty of collectables to get.
Hob manages to tell a whole story without any dialog of any kind.
and if anyone has played it I would love to talk to them about that ending.
Please don't read ahead if you are planning on playing this!
What do you think about the end? did you kill the queen? or join her. Are you the invader or is the queen/corruption? Please share your thoughts
Its a point and click game and perfectly functional as a game.
But the main characters annoyed the hell out of me.
Gameplay is fine.
It works as a point and click game...this is a game I started back in march. But dropped due to not finding the "hillarious" scene where they unplug the entire city to charge something that amusing.
It works...but like the characters are so annoying and I don't much care for the story...and seeing as point and click games live and die by thire story I can honestly not recommend.
Looking past all that I played through without having to use a walkthrough which is always a plus for P&C games and it was well put together/had some videos.
So if you can deal with a stupid MC blundering through everythingI just realized this is exactly the same situation as Deponia but I didn't mind it there/actually liked basically the same humor there so maybe I'm just rasist ahhh *bangs head againsed wall and tries to enjoy the MC breaking and stealing everything*
Hob is my last ignoreing what I won last night aaaa win and a gorgeous Game.

The journey down is meh.
I feel like I've been saying this alot. Its a point and click game and perfectly functional as a game.

I’m sorry, I have to ask…
Hob manages to tell a whole story without any dialog of any kind.
Was there really no dialogue or did you just not notice it because you had the sound off?
Blue Ϟ Lightning
I put it in suggestions for Nov theme

Well, I didn’t like the Journey Down AT ALL, I could barely make it ten minutes in, but it has nothing to do with racism. The protagonists are barely functional idiot stoners who think they are smarter than they are. Some people may find it funny, I don’t. For the record, I never played Deponia because I read the hero is the kind of annoying bro that some people find funny but for me is just annoying.
I have nothing against antiheroes, I don’t expect (or even like) knights on white horses, but some games just have their own audience and I’m not in it.
P.S. Please don’t call yourself a racist so nonchalantly on the internet, things are bad enough as it is…
Thank youu
They pissed me off so much and it was so hard to enjoy the game with the main point being how stupid they were.
The thing about deponia is the MC was a kleptomaniac and messed everything up. Which is incredibly similar.
But it was honestly alot darker which maybe I liked. And the way he went about everything is different.
For inctance at one point you do this whole thing by playing with some babe dolfines and it ends with them being turned into cat food. And Rufus going like “shit what have I done…ah well I’ll still use this to get past the cat”
The problem with this game is just how anoying the stupid stoners are-like you see a jar of money and say “ohoho free money please” “I’m sorry bwuama that’s my life’s savings you can’t have it” and then you just ignore it. All the other characters are just so understanding and let them get away with so much and ahhhh
also ahhhh I’m sorry it’s just one of the reasons I didn’t like this is they pissed me off but I felt like I couldn’t call them deadbeat stoners/wasn’t allowed to hate them just beacause they are Jamaican cause that would make me intolerant and that’s like…I’ve been doing a good job from hiding from all the toxic stuff floating around on SG so I kinda just write whatever here. Because while it somewhat open/anyone can join everyone who posts here is really nice and understanding and stuff…I’m not rasist I just wish I could freely call the main characters in this low life’s without feeling like oneI didn’t pay attention to the fact they were Jamaican anyway (not that I would and I don’t think you really did either), because the distinctive quality was the stoner part. Which was plain annoying and it’s not wrong to find it annoying.
