Fun Run around game where you blow up everything you see. But it has nothing more then that. So after an initial blast of fun, the excitement declines fast and the feeling of boredom start to take over.
The map size is huge and travelling from one point to another can take a long time if you don’t use the fast travel system and even with the fast travel system there are your 2 mandatory cut scene of pick up and delivery with a loading screen squeezed in which makes the whole thing take a long time and kills the fun of it.
Grappling hook is fun to move from place to place and gives the best experience
Helicopters are great too but fail to deliver a real sense of speed.
Jets are just horrible, obviously the developers expect you to play this with a controller and I couldn’t be bothered to make the switch mid game from K/M to Controller.
( IMO a fail on developers side)
Vehicles are plentiful but with a game that doesn’t take itself seriously when it comes to realism, they certainly wanted to make these things feel serious.
Game play is fun. Shooting is satisfying and attacking bases is fun. No depth in factions.
Also take a rocket to the face and survive. Hit a bush with my bike and instant explosion followed instantly by death.
I wonder if Just Cause 3 is worth picking up or if it is just more of the same as in Just Cause 2?
Simple arcade style shooter.
Enough to keep you interested for a few hours.
Really fun soundtrack and mainly play more more games to hear it.
“Great pick me up for 15 minutes” game.
Get it on a sale for sure, u wont be disappointed!
Extra
I am going to slash my time spend on gaming and use it in different areas.
expecting a 50% slash, which actually leaves me with still a rather large amount of gaming time.
See ya around!
I would say for you Just Cause 3 might be a pass but I’m not sure. I’m saying that because I played JC2 an incredible amount of hours (I have it unfinished on PC but I played it over 100 hours on 360) and I’ve been enjoying JC3 overall but I feel I did because it’s more of the same thing which I was expecting out of the game. So If you got bored on JC2 I’m not sure you’d like it. Maybe give it a try if you can get your hands on it with a great discount?
Hmm I will pick it up. Normally they are my kind of games.
Maybe I am suffering from a bit of “gaming fatigue” :)
Maybe you need to pick something really different first. Usually I’m trying to mix the genre to not get overbored with one genre (even if it’s a genre i love)
I am
Mark of the Ninja, Orwell and Trine 2 :)
Different strokes I guess, but i loved Just Cause 2, and I’m enjoying just cause 3 as well. For me it’s the freedom, just jump in a vehicle and go and explore, see an enemy base along the way, stop and cause some mayhem, wait for a helicopter to come, hijack it and carry on, get in a jumbo jet, try and hijack another plane in mid air, land the plan on the highway, do a race, do a mission, find something cool, try and fly under a bridge in a jet, take the hot air balloon up as high as you can and base jump from the top of it and see how long you fall.
JC3 is a lot slicker, and the story is better, and there’s a lot more progression through the gear mod system but the focus is still just on adventure and just getting out there and doing crazy things.
I know right, the things that you mentioned are the things that normally get me excited and keep me going too. Just do some random stuff. However for some reason the “spark” didn’t happen this time. I am not saying I hated it, far from it but it wasn’t the same as with Mad max and the witcher 3. ( ok so its probably not fair to compare it to the witcher 3)
Still you convinced me to pull the trigger on Just Cause 3 next time it’s on sale. :)
Thanks
Yeah I think the problem is also that JC2 is 8 years old. So things that seemed amazing at the time are less so in light of some of the other games that have come since then, as you mention, Witcher 3 and Mad Max and others. JC3 definitely fits the modern style more while still letting you answer important questions like, “I wonder if I can ride on a dustbin tethered to four people who have been shot by the floating head gun” (The answer is yes - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=il6UKpbIIr4)
