Another Miyazaki classic. When I first started, I tried to fight like it was a Souls game. I quickly learned that that does not work in Sekiro and had to learn how fighting in Sekiro works. It doesn't quite have the variety of a Souls game due to the lack of variety in gear, but on the plus side, it plays differently enough from Souls games to feel like a new experience.
I'd start with the Ori games, Hollow Knight, Shadow Complex, etc if you are new to Metroidvanias, but this is a decent addition if you've finished all the usual games in the genre. There are some things that you have to do to progress that are completely nonsensical or are completely unobvious and will usually require looking it up.
The controls aren't great, it is missing some things that modern titles should have, and the game makes you repeat puzzles for no other reason than artificial length. There are better puzzle-platformer options out there.
