We are already deep into 2024 and I want to give some overview over my progress. Compared to the last few years I’m buying much more games in 2024. Naturally that’s slowing my backlog progress by a lot. However, I may still finish my goals for the year, to reduce my backlog to 170 games and complete at least 80% of my new additions. Here are the games from the last few months, sorted by rating from best to worst:

If you are interested in my opinion on any of the games, please feel free to ask. There were no absolute bangers in the list this time, but my favourites would be Noctropolis, Traverser and Intravenous.

To be honest, it’s a bit of a drag! I don’t think it aged well. I can see it’s appeal in 1999, but now so many QoL improvements are missing…like a proper map! I still enjoy playing older games, so I think I will see it through to the end. I’m playing with K+M, the controls are a bit wonky though :D Did you play it as well?

I played Cross of the Dutchman years ago (2017) when my kids were little. I enjoyed it, and it was fun to play it with the kids (they just watched at that age).

Cross of the Dutchman was definitely a nice surprise! It’s nice and cozy (at least until the end….) I can imagine that it was a nice experience playing it for your little ones. I was also thinking of this as possible kids game – I don’t have any though :D
