April’s Stats
aka. where Sheep goes on an Odyssey, and the backlog takes over
I hope you’re all doing great and have made progress during April. On my part, the progress was minimal because almost all my playtime went into Assassin Creed Odyssey, and it is so dense that it left little space for other things. But more on that next month probably, because I am still not done with it as I write those lines. On the plus side, that report won’t take much of your time if you decide to read it. Have a good time in May!

ABC Challenge Progress (24/26)
Finished this month: 0The Council was such an interesting take on detective games with a touch of supernatural. It had a lot of dialogues, some branching so it adds some replayability (even if I suspect some of it will stay the same) and overall I thought the story and plots were interesting enough, even if I'm not sure about the way it goes after a certain point in the story (no spoiler). I really enjoyed the game overall even if you can notice a bit of a down curve on the quality of the writing in the 2 last episodes compared to the earlier ones, I'd still recommend the game nonetheless.
A beautiful jigsaw type of puzzle game that greatly improves on the first one. A harder mode was added where the pieces are not fixed in the correct orientation when you pick them up, which makes the whole thing way more interesting. Definitely a recommended one if jigsaw are your thing.
So, how to explain Minit. It's an adventure game with a very simple retro look that you only play one minute at the time. Every 60 seconds your hero dies but some of the progress you've made is kept, obviously. It's kinda weird to explain but was a pretty interesting concept to play. I wasn't expecting much of it but was curious of the whole gimmick, and it turned out pretty enjoyable. Recommended if you're curious and like short but interesting gameplay.
A basic nonogram (also called Picross) game that had nothing too special but served its function well for me.
Nice nice!
Don’t feel bad about taking time away from your backlog - you’re not! You’re still fighting it! You’re just fighting one big motherfucker instead of a bunch of little motherfuckers, and still making progress.
I’m glad the Council is good (I’d like to pick it up someday!) and I’m glad Glass Masquerade 2 was an improvement.
Indeed, but with those huge games sometimes it feels like you’ll never finish them. And i can already tell I’ll have that empty feel when i’ll be done with it and have to say goodbye to the protagonist.
Oh, very true, very true… still. Better to have loved and said goodbye than never to have loved at all c: Finish Odyssey proud and joyful, EBS.
First off, I love your formatting so much. :o It’s neat and nice to read/look at. Can I ask if there’s a BLAEO tutorial (on how to add/embed those) or is it something we just have to play around with? I’m sorry if these are asking too much, but I would love to have my posts similar to this, thank you!
And as always, I enjoy reading your thoughts on what you played. Great job with the progress for April. I am excited to read your updates for your Backlog of Doom picks (especially 11-11, We the Revolution, Islanders.. basically all those newly released titles, heh). Hope you have a wonderful time :)
Also awesome to know that Odyssey has taken over your life! Honestly, it’s the first game in the AC series that has really caught my interest in years. Their E3 2018 reveal was one I was pleasantly surprised by, and it seems like the game is loved and generally positively received. Do you play as Kassandra or the male character if you don’t mind sharing? If you already played both, are there many story changes that you noticed?
Thank you. There is one somewhere but I can’t find the link anymore, but basically you look at one of your list, select the part you want to copy, right click > view selection source and just copy paste the HTML code from there. Also feel free to just look at the code for my post and use/adapt it. Some other members have already simply used my layout, I don’t mind. There is also somewhere a post generator (bit different tho, gives those collapsable banners you can see in some other members posts) but I’m not sure where it is.
I’m playing Kassandra, and I really love her. I hadn’t feel as invested in an Assassin’s Creed protagonist since Ezio (I’ve played all AC up to black flag, and none after that til odyssey. Loved Black Flag as a pirate game, but meh as an AC. The protagonist was too generic for me to care about him), and probably never had as much fun in any of them. I’m curious how much the story change when you pick the brother as protagonist, but i probably won’t have the courage to do another playthrough after this one. All that to say, Kassandra is great and i’m already fearing to finish the game and have to say goodbye.
Sorry for my late reply, EvilBlackSheep! Life’s been an emotional ride lately, but thank you for your time writing down the formatting tip – I will try that the next I post :)
The protagonist was too generic for me to care about him
I’ve felt the same about some main male characters 😂But it’s awesome to hear you love her! She seems amazing and goodness, really strong and buff. :o A personal thing I look forward to when I acquire the game someday is the same-sex romance option, it’s finally time that the AC series has this & of course, being to play as male or female. Though I heard one of the DLCs forces Kassandra to canonically marry/have kids (?) with a male character even if you have her romance a lady, so that’s upsetting.. but that’s for another long topic.
Anyway, glad you to know you’re enjoying your playthrough with her a lot!
Congrats on the progress! :)
Have you noticed any particular flaws or things that one should be careful about when playing in Nonogram - The Greatest Painter?
Not really. I mean don’t expect anything revolutionary either, it’s a picross game. The thing i was most surprised about was the lack of penalty if you make a mistake, but as a casual game it was just fine.
Ohh I actually prefer that it doesn’t have penalties, sweet! Thanks for the info :)
