First week of February progress

I will probably finish another HOG or two today but I will put those into the next weeks post.

Completed Games

  • Japanese Women - Animated Jigsaws

    16 hours playtime

    34 of 34 achievements

  • Thing-in-Itself

    38 minutes playtime

    10 of 10 achievements

  • Kingdom of Aurelia: Mystery of the Poisoned Dagger

    3 hours playtime

    no achievements

  • Robinson Crusoe and the Cursed Pirates

    4 hours playtime

    no achievements

  • Robin's Island Adventure

    8 hours playtime

    no achievements

Japanese Women - Animated Jigsaws - Got it just before the winter sale because it was 90% off and finally got around playing it on my PC as was way too laggy to play in Wine on my laptop. It still felt a little bit unresponsive (which i don’t remember being an issue with the other 2 games from this series that I have played) but it wasn’t too big of a deal. There is a total of 10 different puzzles that you can solve either 60, 240 or 350. The animated images themselves were pretty nice. But what I really love about this game is that you don’t have to hunt for edge pieces (the bane of my existence), the game can separate them for you.

Thing-in-Itself - Caught my eye after I saw someone make a post about it here (don’t remember who sorry :( ). Extremely short and everything in the game is flat. It is an ok experience if you get it for free somewhere, but I would not pay money for it.

Kingdom of Aurelia: Mystery of the Poisoned Dagger - Nope, nope, nope, nope,… It is a extremely buggy piece of shit.

Robinson Crusoe and the Cursed Pirates - I wasn’t to big of a fan of this HOG either, but it is actually not bad and a million miles better than Kingdom of Aurelia.

Robin's Island Adventure - Decent match 3 game with a total of 123 levels with some minigames composed of different kinds of puzzle games (HOG, complete the image, find the pairs,..) thrown in-between.

Look into the past

  • FEZ

    12 hours playtime

    12 of 12 achievements

FEZ - Completed in September 2013. The dev behind it is a trash human being but the game is for the most part great with the exception of some puzzles that you are not going to be able to solve without a walkthrough, no seriously, one of them was a group effort to brute force.

I wish that was a thing for jigidi puzzles, I still have flashbacks ._.

Thing-in-Itself actually sounds pretty interesting, I’ll try to hunt some trade for it. Thank you :3

MouseWithBeer

I have flashbacks from IRL puzzles, those are the worst to search for edges IMO T.T

I wouldn’t say it is actually worth getting out of the way to find a copy, but if you come across it and want a really short game with kind of a cheesy but okish (at least to me) story go for it :)

Kaleith

I got a copy of it for the equivalent of 10 cents, it was a pretty nice and short experience as you said, thanks again for the random tip :D
