November 2024 - Thankful for Family
Games played this month
Gameplay Summary
Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate! As fall starts closing out and we move toward the Christmas season (Advent started as I am writing this), there was an overarching theme for my gameplay this month: family. All my games had something to with family, either the game content or the circumstances surrounding the choice to play the game. Family is a central piece of my life. This can lead to less than ideal game time to be able to knock out my backlog, but it also leads to opportunities to play with family and friends. And to my extended BLAEO family (and other communities such as PAGYWOSG, PoP, etc), thank you for being a great community.
In Progress Completion: Beat Saber
This month, I was only able to play a small amount, but my mom suggested I purchase a new VR headset during a nice Black Friday sale. She suggested it since I no longer had room to play my old headset where my desktop is setup, and the new one can be played via Steam Link remotely. Previously, she was letting me use her headset (which I did last month), but she wanted to be able to play multiplayer with me like we used to. Even though we didn’t play together this month, we will definitely be able to play together going forward.
In Progress Completion: The Jackbox Party Pack 3
This month, my family and a couple friends played this title again. We played Fakin It and Tee KO. We have previously played Tee KO, though this time around it got… spicier. Fakin It was a new title for me, but my younger sister walked us through it since she has played it at school. I was reminded that I am a terrible liar. I also got two new achievements, getting me closer to completion.
In Progress Completion: The Jackbox Party Pack 4
My family played Fibbage 3: Enough About You during our Thanksgiving celebration after we ate dinner. It was another fun filled session, and we learned a few new things about each other. No new achievements were earned, but it was still a blast to play.
Beaten: Turnip Boy Robs a Bank
The second Turnip Boy game was selected as part of my Play or Pay selection, and I also used it for the November PAGYWOSG event. Having played the first game, I was incredibly pleased with the second game. Unlike the first game, this is more of a roguelite, but it kept the charm of the previous game. Though I beat the main story and got many side missions done, I still will need to finish some more missions to be able to 100% the game, which I absolutely plan to do. The game has themes of chosen family, which is why it fits the family theme.
