Wow, those are some nice gifts you received. :D
I really enjoyed ABZU. I also really enjoyed Syberia and Syberia 2, but I guess you didn’t because you deleted them. Or maybe you couldn’t get them to work. They are old and flawed, but great old classic point-and-clicks.

They for sure are for the most part!

  • Risk of Rain 2 was absolute masterpiece.
  • Hogwarts Legacy was surprisingly very good game, they surely were able to make magical world at least inside of school. Open world could have been smaller and less repeatable places.
  • Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is classic which played for the first time, funnily enough it had certain issues with working which were different to previous game or more - like the first game, as 2nd doesn’t exist on Steam.
  • Psychonauts 2 was really nice continue from first and it explains that VR only titles story at start well enough that you won’t felt left out.
  • As for NieR Replicant, almost hate it. One big errand boy quest! :D

ABZU is really nice diving game, would recommend trying GTAV just for diving and using submarine, as didn’t like it as GTA title that much, but spent pair of hours just going under the sea.

Severed Steel was my kind of high octane shooter and was able to play first chapter without bullet time, so it was even more craziness included! :D

As outliner would recommend checking 🧠 OUT OF THE BOX, similar to Papers Please, but with nightclub & crime theme which has several outcomes.

Syberia 1 did work well after using dgvoodoo2, but after 5 hours or so was starting to be so bored with the title. Actually wrote a review for it. Did check up how Syberia II was on youtube and it seemed similar, as first, so deleted it as well. Good thing didn’t get copy of 3rd title on account beforehand and didn’t apply 4th title there, as it just wasn’t for me. Plenty of people love it though and wonder a bit that maybe it became at right time, but honestly all other P’n’C games that have played have been far more entertaining in comparison. And truly have played good lot of them. :l

Wow thanks for the nice long follow-up. Yes, I don’t think Syberia aged well…I haven’t played #3 (which got mixed reviews at best) or #4 (which I recently obtained and seems better received). OUT OF THE BOX seems kinda fun…I never played Papers Please and it didn’t really appeal to me, but Box seems more appealing for some reason.
I will get Hogwarts Legacy at some point. I kind of want to see what they’re able to do with it on the Switch, as that’s where I’d rather play it. But if they keep delaying it or if they had to make too many concessions to make it run, I might pick it up on PC.

With Syberia did have just too many issues personally. Characters were very unlikable, moving around was very slow and tedious, interactions felt nuisance and like it was just issue after issue piling up. Kate using mentally disabled kid to do get her way because she was too primadonna do things herself, professors and lackeys constant rules, Oscar making this even worse at any turning point and so on. And the stairs, oh god, so many of them and all were so slow to walk upon. ;-; In my opinion remastering wouldn’t help much or even remaking. Think best option is to make new titles like 4th is. Hopefully it’s better than previous parts, but like you said it has gotten rather positive reception. :) Syberia had also good things going for it like visuals, automaton theme and fairly logical puzzles, as far as winding up can be considered. :D

Yeah recommend checking 🧠 OUT OF THE BOX for you, think you might like it or maybe not. Depending on how style hits. But sometimes criminal themes and violence are included. Also think it had some pointless extra days to add padding, but pretty solid title with same idea as Papers Please.

Not too familiar with Switch or consoles, but have sucked enough content to about understand it’s placement performance wise. It will be probably fairly toned down visually from what have catched of it’s comparative performance. Guess if any other games are released on Switch from same timeline like Resident Evil 4, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Callisto Protocol, Dead Space and so on, maybe it will come? On PC it was at fairly bad performance state at release, but had personally solid experience at 1080p x 60fps x high. Though did upgrade new PC during this year, so it might not say much. Did check previously video relative to build closer old PC and it could have potentially had close to 60fps performance with tweaking settings. One patch came around when started to play Hogwarts Legacy, but there were certainly fair bit of bugs though none were game breaking ones. Honestly PC gaming and ports have been literal shit show in late times (especially AAA raise the price productions). It’s rarer to see working and well performing title that of a broken one! o.o’ Also hardware had some fairly bad issues, personal experience with first AM5 board was bad and at least got money back from it after fighting a bit with RMA process. At least they did deliver new BIOS recently to fix high voltage issues. But then again consoles aren’t like back in the day, just stick disc in and start playing, so they also aren’t in such a good place, but tad better due not being ported and have just one system to build around for. Honestly would probably recommend people to buy Steamdeck at this point when comparing to everything else (don’t own one). :D
