This game is based on the ancient China from 1600BC to 221BC, though it is not even close to the real condition. We cannot force a foreigner to know more, isn’t it. This game is a combination of civilization and the total war. There are some unreasonable settings, such as the reduce speed of unrest unhappyness, and the bug of labor distribution, which may ruin the gaming experience. But it is still a good game. I will play again after some updates.

This is a small indie game. It contains about 80 levels, and each level is very short. Although the element of game is not much, the gaming experience is pretty good.
How do you make a porn sim without nudity? That should be a crime or something. Check out Lula: The Sexy Empire on GOG if you want the real deal.

We all have access to the same sources, and it’s not much harder for someone in the US or in the Ukraine to find sources that would be relevant to a game like this than it is for someone in China. There might be certain primary sources that might be hard to get hold of, but secondary sources should be readily available. And if things are just terribly wrong, then it’s even worse for a game like this than it would be for a time period that we’re all familiar with, like say WW2, because this will help cement this faulty information in the public mind.
Actually, most people know history just from stories. Most people do not know the culture, living, political structure, and most other differences between different countries or different dynasties. The developer ofcourse read some books or some intruction of the dynasties of China. But it’s too difficult for them to understand the differences between the dynasties and countries.
Although we gain knowledge from same sources. We spent different time. But it’s really better to hire a expert to design the characters of the countries and dynasties.
Well, we’re still forced to learn about history in school, so everyone should have a rough idea about what was going on over time, at least in their region (so as a European, I’ll have a rough idea about what was going on in most of Europe between the time of ancient Greece up to modern day just from that). So if a game, book or movie would go “oh, and the Romans were known for its heavily armoured cavalry”, most people, at least from the western world will go “no, wait, that’s not right”.
I never found the dynasties to be that hard to wrap my head around when I read about Chinese history. We’re of course talking about a relatively large geographical area, that at times were more or less unified, and at times was splintered, and a long time period, so if you start taking a closer look at it, it gets relatively complex, but on a surface level at least, it’s not that hard to understand what was going on. And there’s plenty of literature over here that’s readily available about Chinese history. Getting the literature needed to get a master’s degree in Chinese history is not a problem, so if things are blatantly wrong, then there’s no real excuse for it.
If you want a mess that people can’t wrap their heads around, look at the Holy Roman Empire. While it existed for a comparatively short time, politically it’s a mess to read about.
OK. I am really happy to find somebody also like history. Maybe we should take some action to force the history games developer to learn more about histories.
