December Progress Report, and looking forward to 2022
I was rather late to make this post as I was even busier than usual with IRL stuff. I didn’t get to play or finish that many games in December because of that as well. On the plus side, I finally have a better way to play the backlog, a 4k 120hz capable TV (Sony X95J) I got myself as a present for Christmas! Hopefully I can finish more stuff in January to make that all worthwhile. As for 2022… I plan to play more of my backlog as usual while keeping the number of new purchases in control :D
Games completed:
A short and sweet puzzle game that never outstays its welcome. I actually played this ages ago on my phone. Discovered that all 4 games are available on steam and bought them immediately. I didn't play the other 3 in any form yet so this will be a fun journey.
For better or worse, I'm marking FH5 as completed for now. While I didn't do literally everything that's possible in the game, I played it quite a lot. Currently it's my most played game on steam, which speaks volumes about how much I enjoyed it. Sure, the game still is a bit buggy (as is typical of all AAA releases these days), but that didn't hamper me much. Patches improved it quite a bit from the mess it was at launch, and I'm sure it'll be in a far better state in 2022. I'll still check back on the game for the weekly rewards and may even try to 100% it someday, but I really, really should focus on other games on my backlog :P
Games I started playing:
This is a fascinating game. The artstyle and presentation are mindblowingly good (for an indie), and the central mystery is intriguing. I played it a bit but I think I may have to put off playing other games when I want to complete it because it requires a bit more thinking than your average detective game.
Overall progress:
Games completed this month: 2
Achievements: 4188 (+12)
Perfect games: 128 (+1)
AGC: 74% (+0%)
Hey, that’s a great christmas gift! I hope you enjoy your new TV.
i see you played Forza Horizon quite a bit :D I think it’s justified to mark a game beaten after so many hours even if you did not experience everything the game has to offer. Nice progress in 2021 overall, too. One question. just out of curiosity: I noticed that your “won’t play” category drastically shrunk over the months. Did you decide to give some of the games another chance or did you remove them?
Happy gaming in 2022 to you :)
Happy 2022 in gaming to you too!
I did remove some games from my won’t play section. Those were all games that I bought via ‘steam bundles’ (like 20+ games in the square enix eidos bundle), like Kane & Lynch, Daikatana, etc. which I don’t see myself ever playing anytime soon when I have far far better games to play in my backlog already. Unfortunately I don’t get as much time to play games as I’d want these days, so I’d rather play one good game instead of suffering through 10 bad games.
That sounds reasonable. Why keep games you never going to play. And yes, gaming time always seems to be too short :(
