El ninja was given for free and i expected it to be no more than a card farm. Surprisingly the game was pretty fun for that hour of playtime.
Experience 112… I’ll just copy my review for this one. The absolute WORST quest i’ve ever palyed. Unresponsive AI, clunky interface, game mechanics that randomly decide to not work properly leaving you wondering is that you who did something wrong or the game, abysmal loading times, nonexistant optimization with 10 fps as a norm in some areas, nonsensical puzzles. On the “bright” side the story was interesting enough and the whole control through cameras seemed interesting. Avoid this garbage of a game unless you’re mazochistic enough to torture yourself through it.
The Fall is a great game. The story is just gorgeous and the gameplay is good enough to support it. Puzzles were interesting and logical enough, no walkthrough needed, controls are a bit clunky, not too bad. Just play it, NOW, GO!
F.E.A.R, F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point, F.E.A.R.: Perseus Mandate. A decent shooter, nothing less, nothing more. Locations were quite bland and grey, i thought that office building part of the game will never end. Horror part of the game is just… why? Doom 3 will look scary compared to this one and Doom 3 is not scary at all aside from stupid jumpscares of course. A couple of jump scares and a couple of horrory scenes here and there, nothing to be interested in. Second expansion was made by a different team and i have only one question: spoilers Protagonist in the original game and first expansion is the same guy with “superhuman reflexes” which is represented by the bullettime mechanic, but in second expansion you play as a random operative which should not have the same powers but he does, also he is not killed by the “bad guy” and even getting some explanations from him, why?, it’s never explained, in the original it was clearly stated that there were only two “subjects” and then the project was closed. If you like FPS games, go ahead and play it, if you like horror games - it’s a disappointment.
Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes, a decent 4x game with a couple of unique mechanics but it’s so so so shallow compared to Civilization series or the Endless series. Interesting to try out, but then you’ll come back to Civilization in no time.
Flesh Eaters is another game i thought is nothing more than a card farm, but it is actually pretty decent and will engage you for a couple of hours but then there will be no content left. My 5 hours of playtime include idle for cards for about 4 hours back when it was unfinished.
Future Wars, decent turnbased tactics, VERY easy except for a couple of missions that were interesting, the story is insanely cringy. Not a bad game overall.
Gateways, pretty fun metroidvania puzzle-platformer. When you find the “time” gun though it becomes a PLATFORMER-puzzle game with high emphasis on timing and precise jumps which i’m not fond of, luckily there is a mechanic with which you can skip SOME of the puzzles without which i wouldn’t beat this game. Play it only if you enjoy this type of game.
Glorkian Warrior: The Trials Of Glork is a yet another game i underestimated this month. It is kind of a Space Invaders but with some twists. It is actually an endless type of game but i consider it beaten cause i got all the unlocks. Solid fun for a couple of hours but then it gets quite repetitive.
Just Cause, at first i wondered how it relates to the monthly theme as a poor GTA clone but when you play it you quickly understand why… cause the only viable mean of transportation is a helicopter cause despite of a HUGE map it is actually a HUGE wasteland in terms of content. Sidemissions are all the same (there are 2 types: fetch/kill the random target and liberation of a settlement which are all pretty much identical), main story feels rushed, in fact the whole game feels incredibly rushed, it’s like they worked on a huge map for a couple of years and then needed to finish the rest of the content in a month, i’m actually kind of surprised that this game got a sequel. The only game without achievements that i consider COMPLETED insted of BEATEN cause i’m pretty sure i did everything i could in it. Overall it is not a good game and as many, many others suggest - play the sequel right away and don’t bother with it. Also the hook mechanic is barely working at all, it is SO disappointing.
Yeah, Just Cause 1 is just.. terrible. I don’t get how it got a sequel either, but some people must have liked it. The reviews for it are all over the place as well, with some reviews being in the 90’s, and some being in the lower 40’s, with a relatively even spread in-between.
I was planning to play Experience 112 because I heard it was a bit similar to Republique, but I’m not sure anymore =(
I think F.E.A.R. was a great game at its own time, but now it doesn’t look good compared to the modern horrors and shooters.
They just had an idea but completely ruined it, probably the team weren’t skilled enough for the task, a lot of bad decisions during the development, probably deadlines weren’t met, all of it would be bearable if not the puzzles design, sometimes even when you know EXACTLY what to do and even read the walkthrough to be sure - you still can’t get it to work. There is a screenshot on my profile, a puzzle where you need to fit pieces in the right places, you can move them, rotate and resize freely and they need to be PRECISELY placed, i had a picture of what it should look like but i was stuck there fidgeting with pieces for 30-60 minutes with frustration slowly killing me.
I played FEAR when it first came out and i was bored rather quickly without ever finishing it. The enemy AI was the only selling point of the game, well maybe the fact that bodies didn’t go though each other was also quite a WOW thing back then.
