Iāll be honest: growing up doesnāt get well with gaming.. why whole months pass and I canāt even manage to play once.. it sucks.
I keep thinking Ā«Iād really like to play nowĀ», Ā«perhaps tonight I could be able to play a littleĀ» and such.. but most of times it just ends with me going to bed disappointed :\
I still read from time to time what you write, as itās always interesting, but Iām not as regular as before; and, of course, I do not have enough time to read it all (otherwise I would be playing) =P
Iāve also started playing games outside Steam, thatās why it seems Iāve been playing even less than how it really is. (not much more tho)
Anyway, in my last post I mentioned how I had reached 4500 achievements (yes, that was in 2019).. and today Iām telling you Iāve just obtained the 5000th! š„³
Itās called You Have a Great and itās from Muse Dash. Have a look at it:
Not much, but itās honest work ā some would say.

Youāre allowed to make posts about those, too. Iāve done it before, and Iāve seen other people do it on this site before as well. In fact, Iām playing a PS3 game right now, and you bet Iām gonna make a post about it after I beat it.

If it helps, maybe next time you should treat it like a vacation: plan ahead, take off work, let your family know ahead of time that youāll be unavailable for a few weeks, etc., THEN activate Game Pass (emergencies are obviously an exception, but hopefully, they wonāt last the whole month).
I know, Iāve seen them.. Itās just that I finished close to nothing š
The most played game itās Genshin Impact.. well, thatās until my wifi started to stop working whenever I launch it. Also, Iām a super āignorantā about it (I play it like a classic RPG, but Iāve noticed that there are many other things to do.. for example, I was with the starting party until not too long ago, didnāt know you could use wish to get new chars.. I thought youād unlock them through the story as you did with the first ones.)
Thatās also something Iām wondering about.. take some days off work from time to time just to play :)
Luckily, my backlog is huge, so I donāt need Game Pass or similar.
Feel you! Have same situation: a lot of work, even outside of work; child; wife that doesnāt think it is ok to spend time gamingā¦ But want to inspire you: there is a chance you will find a balance in lifeVSgaming issue. I almost did. Mainly by refusing completely online gaming (all this MMO-something, even shooters, are huge time thieves) and being more careful with games I choose to play. Also a real game changer was Steam Deck - perfect for short gaming sessions.
So keep trying and find best practices for yourself. You can do it šŖ
I hope the price of Steam Deck will drop in the future, as it is a bit too high for me atm.. but, yes, it does seems interesting/useful
Thanks, same to you šŖ
If you donāt mind the question: Where is the issue with gaming time? I am 38 right now and still find lots of time for playing. Granted my girlfriend is pretty chill about it. I think as long as you donāt have kids, it shouldnāt be that much of an issue.
Though, I donāt know, there might be a lot of reasonable things which can consume time as well (Buying/Building a house, bad work times, sickness, other time consuming hobbies, ā¦).
Well, you said most of the issues yourself..
At work we are kind of understaffed, so Iām working overtime almost daily; with my gf, we are actively looking for a house (without much success); also, contrary to your, my gf āhatesā videogames, even if I have to say that lately seems she tolerates more when I play, compared to before. And, of course, thereās all the house tasks to do, cleaning, cooking and so on, plus the human interactions that are needed to live in this society. Iāve been able to carve out some time to play by organizing tasks and sleeping less.
If you have any advice, please, Iām all ears :)
