Yesterday I’ve reached a milestone: 100 games finished in 2016 (I got 100% in 53 of them). There were plenty of short games but it still feels like a nice accomplishment.
It’s been a month since my last update. Here is what I’ve been up to in August (too many games to review individually so I will just split them into 3 categories):
Good are the games I enjoyed the most. Okay is a combination of “could’ve been better” and “okay for what it is”. Bad = don’t waste your time.
This is a pretty good game, not the best. I will remember it for a long time because for whatever reason I decided to 100% it. One of the achievements requires you to finish the game in one night (pretty much in one sitting).
I decided that spending a weekend night playing a relaxing adventure game doesn’t sound too bad. What I failed to notice (who reads description and tags when you can look at screenshots) is that this is not a relaxing adventure but a horror game that reminded me of early Resident Evil (just without fighting / shooting and ghosts instead of zombies).
This game is stressful. It’s dark. You don’t have a flashlight. You have to use matches. They don’t last long. You die. Thankfully the game is not hard but there are a lot of collectibles and many can be missed and would require a second walkthrough. Since I was trying to get everything in one walkthrough I had to take it slow. I was hoping to finish the game in 4-5 hours but I ended up spending about 7-8 hours playing this game. I took a couple of breaks in the beginning but then I realized that I was running out of “one night” and may not get the achievement I wanted so I had to power through the rest of the game. That was certainly a fun experience but I am not sure if I want to do it again :)

So you’ve finished 100 games in 8 months. My slow math head makes it about 12 games per month, nice! Even if there were short games as you say, that’s still an impressive tally.

My initial goal was 15 games this year but I got carried away :D I still have 4 more months. Maybe I’ll be able to get to 150 but I doubt.

I wish I counted how many games I played this year.

wow, that’s amazing progress, congrats! I haven’t even finished half as much overall …

You can do it! Making short lists and beating games one by one is where it all started for me. I completed 5-10 games total last year so it’s definitely a progress.

Congrats on the impressive milestone!!! I’m not sure how many games I finished this year before I joined BLAEO but for sure I’m nowhere near your number!

Your backlog is tiny comparing to mine so you are okay :D

Wow, that is impressive, that’s usually the number of books I finish a year, give or take a dozen. I spend a lot of time playing “neverending” games like open world rpgs(Mount&Blade) or rts/4x games. I have several HOGs in my library I keep meaning to play, I probably should since that rush of “completion” feels good and urges one on to complete more.

I should really read more. I only read one book over the past year T_T I read visual novels though but that barely counts, however, some of them are pretty good.
Most of the HOGs are easy and relaxing and usually pretty short so that’s a good place to start :)
Congratulations on the milestone. :)
Thank you :)
