I really like reading your updates - there’s a lightness and peppy energy to them that makes me smile.

I’m glad to hear Rusty Lake: Roots was that enjoyable! It’s always rewarding to peek into a genre you don’t usually play and happen to catch a good one. I’m excited to go through this series - I only heard of them recently and they seem intriguing!

JaffaCaffa

Aw that really means a lot, thank you!! :) Yours do as well, your personality always shines through whether it’s a positive or negative review and cheers me up.

Me too! I was intrigued but still on the fence, then saw 10 minutes of gameplay from Paradise (in the series) and knew I had to give it a go. Something about the game was so engaging and satisfying to play throughout, all you can really ask for with puzzles. I really hope you end up enjoying it too whenever you pick it up!

Forsaken

I can’t wait to play Gorogoa, it looks so much fun and interesting :) Also thanks for your Rusty Lake: Roots review, you answered some of the questions I had about the game.

Recover well and take care of yourself.

JaffaCaffa

It’s definitely a game I’d imagine most people would enjoy! Really neat concept. Glad I helped some, thanks for your kind words. :)

Thanks for the feedback about Rusty Lake: Roots! I recently activated it without knowing much, but thought it looked interesting. Sounds like the game struck a nice balance with the puzzle difficulty. I don’t mind dark humour at all, as long as it isn’t outright distasteful just for the sake of it.

All the best for your recovery, good to hear you’ve already regained strength from physical therapy!

JaffaCaffa

Yeah the difficulty was close to perfect imo, had a nice flow. Although it’s dark humour, it’s more on the doesn’t-take-itself-too-serious side. Some dark, depressing stuff with a lot of death, but wasn’t really offensive/distasteful like you said. The cartoony atmosphere helps a lot with keeping things light and puzzle integration keeps it interesting. I hope you like it! And thank you. :D

I’m (more than) a little late in catching up with updates on this site, but better late than never, right? :P

I practically never watch TV, but I did watch the first two stories (I thought the second was certainly a lie!) and that had me laughing, so I might check it out some more. :D Also, microbes? O_o That’s like geeky Discovery Channel stuff. I approve! I haven’t read a book in years, and I never got around to finishing this one, but from the 3/4 that I’ve read, I thought Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts was excellent, and found so many quote-worthy sentences in it that I’d read, pause in thought, and re-read over and over.

You’re a strong woman, Jaffa. I know that there are times when you may not feel it, but that doesn’t make it any less true. Keep your chin up, embrace the warmer days ahead, and most importantly, keep finding that smile. :)

Your messages always make me smile, thank you. :D

Ooh Shantaram sounds fascinating, I’ll definitely have to check it out. I love books that show different walks of life, thanks for the rec!

You seriously have the best taste in music as well. I stopped listening to most music for years but have been slowly listening to more and more, and every single song you’ve shared I’ve fallen in love with (which led me to some other favourites in the recommended section). You’re the best.

Kap

Yay for smiles! And aww, thanks for the compliment. I don’t really listen to the radio much (or watch TV… notice a pattern here?), but find most of my music online, so some of it is pretty far from the mainstream. (Please don’t call me a hipster…that’s not what I meant!) You just reminded me of a time when I was driving my niece somewhere (probably to school since she was little at the time and had to sit in the back seat), and as usual, the music I had playing was stuff she’d never heard before. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw her beaming and nodding her head to the song, and when she looked up and made eye contact she told me, “You always have the coolest music, Uncle Robbie!” She’s all grown up now and can ride in the front (haha!), but even now there’s been a time or two when she was in the car and leaned over with her phone to take a screenshot of whatever song I was playing so that she could download it, herself. :)

JaffaCaffa

Aw that is too stinkin’ precious!! Possibly the best compliment you could ever ask for. :) Gotta love little moments like that.

Kap

Yeah, I took it to heart, especially since she was at that age where kids are so genuine and just speak their mind. :)

By the way, I just discovered this song yesterday and wanted to share it since it seems perfect for when your soul could use a little pick-me-up.

I completely agree, kids’ compliments are the absolute best.
Beautiful! A couple songs I’ve been enjoying are Melanie - Brand New Key and Lovewave - 그 밤 (The Night).

Kap

Ah, I didn’t recognize the first one by its title, but I knew the song. That’s an oldie that I hadn’t heard in ages. The second was rather delicate and soothing, and made me think that you’d appreciate this as well: Broods - Four Walls (Live)
