I always like games with space stuff, I don't know, I just dig them and same happens with movies or anything else with sci-fi thematic. I wasn't sure what to expect from Tacoma but the minute they showed the technology that could replay events and almost anything that happened to the crew of the space station I knew I was in for a treat. I almost felt like a futuristic Sherlock Homes digging up what was actually going on and oh boy did I enjoy it. Really liked the narrative, the history, getting to know each character without even knowing them apart from their colorful silhouette was fun and intriguing, maybe just a little to short for my taste because I enjoy longer playthroughs and that ending made me want more.
What did I just played? Well the game itself it's simple, someone needs an object and you just go find it in this creepy and surreal hotel. Simple enough right? But there's no actual story to grab your attention and the controls are not perfect which annoyed me a little. The Norwood Suite is so out of the box that it gets a little funny, but not enough for a good scoring.
I've been wanting to play this forever and finally I have a decent computer to run it. I just loved the old Tomb Raider games, it felt so nostalgic playing once again has Lara Croft. It's great seeing Lara's evolution throughout the game and she eventually becomes the Lara Croft we know from the old games and I enjoyed that alot. I found myself always wandering off checking the landscapes while trying to get every single collectible and had fun doing it. Exploring tombs, great mechanics, engaging story and overall an amazing game. Can't recommend it enough.
This game was on my backlog for a while, I simply couldn't run it on my old laptop. But that's fine, I can run it now. I finished and I got mix feelings about it. The game itself has a great premise which consists in trying to survive in this open world full of zombies while rebuilding your own society, sounds cool. But it doesn't do it's job completely. The missions are completely random and I just wanted for the main story missions to show up so I could finish it and go back to another game. I completely hated having to run around the map just to get to this location and then another one and then another one and then another one and got tired of it eventually and just wanted the game to end. I didn't feel the survival part of the game so much, I liked how they implemented perma-death but that's about it because you don't actually manage the resources and all the other things, you just fetch stuff and that's it. Overall it's still fun to play and you start caring for your characters but I feel that it falls a little short.
I love tactical strategy games so I knew I was gonna enjoy Massive Chalice. The game itself plays amazing and there's a deep history behind it. It's fun taking command of the bloodlines, the marriages and the heroes. There's plenty of classes to play with and to mix around which makes it even more interesting. But somehow these things get a little to repetitive in the end game, you just stop caring for all those grown characters that are just gonna get married with some old snag so you can continue the bloodlines but still, it's a great game for all the tactical game lovers out there. The game exhausts you and the ending proves it right, completely got me this one.
Best game. Seriously, best game. I didn't know I could like survival and exploration simulators but The Long Dark is a game to be recognized. Simple yet one of the most fun games I ever played. I actually only played the story mode but that mode itself completely overwhelmed me. I got lost exploring all the scenarios while managing the food, my clothes, my weapons, the cold and the dangers that exists in the wilderness. The game itself is so alive that I'm completely out of words. I can't wait for the other episodes to come out so I can explore more of this great story. Still I have to try out the survival mode, I haven't yet because I know if I start it won't be able to get me hands out of it so soon so better attack my backlog instead.
Heard alot about Owlboy back in the days when it came out. It's great seeing these old pixelated adventures coming back to life it just amazes me. Really engaging story with alot of funny characters. I'm not a big fan of the platform genre but I pretty much enjoyed it apart from the controls, they just seem clunky sometimes and it annoyed me a little bit but not enough to stop me from enjoying the game which was a great ride from beginning to end.

Huh! I kept the Norwood Suite out of the Humble Bundle, and I’m a little sad to see it’s kind of weird. It seems it’ll be short, though, so that’s nice! It’s something I can just dedicate an afternoon to.
Go for it, it is pretty short and it’s really easy to get all the achievements, an afternoon will be enough.
I’m a massive sucker for generational play kind of games so Massive Chalice has been on my to-play list pretty much since release. What would be your closest comparison to other similar games if you played any like it? The Long Dark has a story now? Seems like an interesting addition for a survival game.
Actually it’s the first game I play with that generational mechanic, I found it pretty unique didn’t know there were more games like that. Yes, The Long Dark has a story mode now, it’s episodic and only the first two episodes are available right now, the last three are probably gonna be released during this year.
Interesting. Commendable of them to not charge for episodes.
Hey, welcome to BLAEO! And welcome back to Steam haha ;D
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the update an reviews! Some nice games and some games I’m interested in.
Tacoma, Norwood, and ABC Murders are in my backlog, and would love to play them. I played Grimrock a while ago, but got myself bogged down in it so I kind of gave it up, so it remains on my list of completionist downers. Tomb Raider was one of my favorites also– really loved it. I have the Long Dark but can’t decide if I want to give it away, trade it, or activate it so it can rot in my backlog :( .
You should definitely activate The Long Dark, but please don’t let it rot on your backlog, try it out, it’s such a good one.
I would have to add it to my long list of games I’m itching to play.
