Tell Me Why
I didn't expect much of this game and thus wasn't disappointed but pleasantly surprised. The story is about two twins, one of them being transgender and starts with a flashback of young Tyler, confessing to the police of killing their mother. They also have some kind of superpower called 'their voice' which lets them talk to eachother via their thoughts and to re-visualize their memories. I had two concerns about this game and both weren't valid. First I feared that the story would be boring, that we already know what happened when the game told us right off the start. But even in the last chapter came new information about the night their mother died, which really surprised me. Everytime I didn't expect any other new unraveling, there was one. The second was about the twins and that they're not interesting enough – at least not the sister Alyson – to care about. And while she idd was my least favorite of those two in the end I actually started to care. She wasn't unlikable at any point, but she also was just... well... there? Until she was more than only being there, but I don't want to spoil anything! Overall a great game about several important topics, interesting, beautiful and sweet.
Atelier Meruru
Played on Playstation 3 After probably 5 years? More maybe? I finally finished the Arland triology (minus the fourth sequel lol), which thanks to my stubbornness to never play two games of one series in a row took me so long to finish. And now I miss them. Ech. I still fancy Atelier Rorona over Totori and Meruru, but nevertheless I had an amazing time with Meruru as well! So many things to do to keep you on it without it ever can get boring, old characters return for more hype, new events that make you laugh a lot. Meruru is as charming and sweet as the other two games. Because I played Rorona and Totori so many years ago, I kind of forgot about their endings, so it probably bugged me again or for the first time – I don't really remember. But after the fifth year, doesn't matter where you're at right now, in a dungeon or in your workshop, the game is over and there's no way to continue despite you're far from completion. I think I at very least had about 5 quests left that included boss monsters and new dungeons I never set my foot in yet but still the game forced me to see the Credits and to start with NG+, that I maybe be faster the next time. This really disappointed me as I still was very eager to do all of the remaining quests, stood right before a boos fight when I was called back to the city to end the game. Was hoping to be able to play more after it, but sadly nope :^) Maybe I really should start a NG+ then... Hmmm
Press Any Button
Such a simplistic, yet very cute game. The gameplay sounds more than boring; you press any button to let a platform appear to stop objects from falling. And that's really already it, though the game still isn't lacking of any charme. It's about the life itself, about enjoying even the smallest things and admiring their beauty. It was short, yet impactful, and with a beautiful sound.
