Looking back at 2017
Just a quick check back of last years resolutions and how well I did in following them.
- I set a goal of 100 perfect games, I came close at 91 which is a small win as I was perhaps over optimistic saying 100 when I started with 57 perfects. Fail
- I never set a “list” or forced myself to play a specific win which meant I played more wins and finally got around to playing through The Witcher 3! Success
- I didn’t write many but I did write “more” reviews. Partial Success
- I went back and finished quite a few games I had started previously and never finished which brought my ACR up. Success
- I got to level 61 on steam for profile showcases, I wanted 50/60. Big Success
- I started a couple of games I enjoyed but stopped playing them. Resolution was to not start and drop anything I enjoyed. Huuuuge failure
- I didn’t play Clannad, still not ready to cry. ;-;
I’ll do a fancier post on my PC not phone as Jayes off to visit family tomorrow so I’ll be all alone. Before I sign off…
Personal 2017 game awards.
GOTY: The Witcher 3, loved it so glad I finally played it.
Surprise of the Year: Nonary Games, I was hyped for it but wasn’t expecting to love it so much.
Disappointment of the year: Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. Pretty game, love the concept of AA, dripping in lore, soooo shallow on gameplay I expected more, not bad just not good.
WTF of the year: Rubbing cards to level them up in Monster Monpiece.
Gameplay of the Year: Divinity Original Sin. Never had so much fun multiplayer!
Kawaii: Lil Eat! I don’t think I’ve ever said “awww” as much.
Fave Gift/Win: Orwell gifted to me by Keo, such a me game!
Underappreciated: Sexy Brutale, its criminal I don’t hear more about this marvellous experience!
Sexy Brutale.. I forget about that game! Must play it soon since its short! Plus Nonary Games but Clannad first!

Aww, come on, some of those resolutions were really demanding. You did really well :) I usually try to set up more manageable goals, otherwise I would be just setting myself for failure XD Anyway, best of luck in 2018! ^_^
I probably set lofty goals but I appreciate your support! This years goals will be smaller especially with me working more. Enjoy 2018!
Congrats on your achievements/progress this year, your bars were set up really high so don’t feel bad what you did is actually a lot. I’m jealous of your Witcher 3 finish, I really need to get to it this year
And interesting awards, that made me change some priorities in my playlist/bump stuff up my wishlist. (especially the nonary games for the WL part)

I put off Witcher 3 for soooo long but its brilliant! Highly recommend it and Nonary games is perhaps the best VN/Puzzle game ive ever played!

At least you didn’t go down the path of looking up easy-to-100% games just to pad that stat, I know that Past Me would have done exactly that >_>

D:OS2 is even better but maybe it would be nice to let some time pass before getting back into a long game like that :P

According to SteamSpy it went from ~50K owners to ~180K over the past month, thanks to the 2 bundles it’s been in. Now only time will tell if those people actually play it and experience its uniqueness
I don’t remember your comment tbh, I did a whole “forget about SG” thing to escape the toxic atmosphere so I probably didnt see it.
Lil Eat is short but sooo cute definitely worth the hours.
There was a few easy 100%’s but I am proud of some, especially in the time it took to do it.
Sexy Brutale is so good! I didn’t realise it got bundled I hope that it gets more plays now as its worth it.

I’m so glad you enjoyed the first two Zero Escape games! I was surprised too when I first played them at how gripping they can be. I don’t want to burst your bubble, but I just want to caution you if/when you play the third one: the… the standards… aren’t quite the same. It’s… have your expectations as low as you can get them, because it’s very different and much… less good.
I’m excited to play the Sexy Brutale myself - I’ve heard only good things about it.
Thanks for the reply! You simply must play Sexy Brutale its such a shame no one really gives it its due. The gameplay is fun and the story is compelling!
I started the newest Zero Time but I only played 20 mins or so when I realised my mindset wasn’t right to play it. It will get played this year but I’ll definitely keep in mind that its not as good, to be fair, it’d be hard to be as good as the others.
