Super belated update. I’ve been having such a hard time balancing life atm and finding the energy/desire to do things. Between my mental and physical health plus actually playing games…it’s silly how creating update posts can seem overwhelming but they are. I’ve constantly been putting it off. Hopefully I get into the swing of things once again soon. If not, well shouldn’t stress myself out over it. I was doing this for fun, there’s just something strangely satisfying and comforting about lists and keeping track of everything. Don’t want to give it up, but if I need to put things on hold or just do very simple updates so be it. As long as I’m enjoying the games I’m playing as much as possible right? :D

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood (April 31st)
Finished this just in time for the April's Theme: Challenge Me! It's one of my new favourite games, so happy I finally got around to playing it. It's one of those games that passed me by, I think I got it in a bundle and was really excited for it at the time but forgot all about it. I love 3D platformers and this one was completely up my alley. Super gorgeous (like a Pixar film), fantastic atmosphere and fun puzzley mechanics. It wasn't ridiculously easy, but not very hard either. I could totally see myself playing and adoring this as a kid as well. Simply a joy to play and cannot recommend enough.

Renowned Explorers: International Society (June 19th)
I won this in a Playing Appreciated giveaway and I am SO grateful! This game was in the one Humble Bundle Monthly that I was so bummed that I didn't buy and immediately put it on my wishlist. Happy to say that it was as much fun as I'd hoped. It was a fantastic adventure, between the exploring, humour-filled story and enjoyable turn-based combat. There's a bunch of different paths you can go down, different crews to choose from...a bunch of variety to customise to your specific playthrough which added a lot of replayability. I completed 2 playthroughs and won the second one with my group of gals. I can definitely see myself playing this again in the future, I've already been thinking about it a lot more again. Definitely a lot of fun.

the static speaks my name (July 6th)
A short free-to-play game on depression that packs a punch. A lot of it is symbolic and kind of "out there" if you take it at face value. I know it won't be for everyone, but personally it conjured a lot of emotion. My whole body and mind was buzzing by the end, it hit close to home and had me thinking about it for a while afterwards.

V (July 18th)
This game is so addicting. I wasn't expecting too much out of it and wasn't hooked to begin with...but man as you start to improve it's so hard to put down. Cyan was so dang tricksy at the start!!! Still the colour/word that gave me the most trouble but I definitely improved the last half hour or so of playing and was able to conquer multiple countries in a row before messing up. I played a total of 110 games and lost to cyan 45 times.

Question! I tried adding this game to one of my lists but I was unable to because the title is simply V. It says to "keep typing..." when I only type V. Tried entering the steam app number too and that didn't work. Any way to get around this? Thanks in advance if you know. :)

Hopefully be back sooner than later and that everyone is loving whatever game(s) you're playing atm!

I have no idea about the games you play. So… nothing about the games :)
Instead I wish you all the best! I would hand you my cats over for a cat comfort hug, so imagine hugging a fluffball :)
Hope you have lots of sun to brighten up your day and in case not: there is always sunshine after rain! :*

Enjoy gaming!
Happy backlog killing! :)

JaffaCaffa

Thanks a bunch, hugging a fluffball sounds like the perfect remedy. Wishing all the best to you too. :)

ninglor03

Hugging Fluffballs is always the best thing to do. But more so, if nothing works out and soul+body are just worn out. So Fluffballs for everyone! :]
Thank you ;) :)

Hey fellow Playing Appreciated member! :)

First off, congrats on biting the bullet and getting round to doing something that caused you any amount of anxiety for whatever reason. It’s an achievement that should be celebrated when you conquer something that to you can seem an enormous task, so have a virtual hug for starters and a high five! :D

Secondly, Lists are the best. They can help to organise a whole bunch of jumbled thoughts/ideas/other stuff (I ran out of definitions…its been a long day QQ) and bring some semblance of order in what can seem a chaotic world. Until your cat decides to eat/sleep/pee on it …..and then it can be a little frustrating…but then you get to write a whole new list! YAY!

Thirdly, (see? I made a list too because it helps me to order everything instead of screaming random words incoherently at people :P) I have zero clue how to fix the V issue, but, Renowned Explorers looks so much fun to play! It’s been on my wishlist a little while and I cannot wait to get around to actually getting my hands on it and playing it. I’m so pleased it seems to be having such good reviews!

Lastly, but by no means least, keep smiling through whatever life throws at you. If you feel like doing nothing, then indulge, and do nothing. Generally speaking, there’s way too much guilt associated with doing what you want to do, as opposed to what you think you should be doing. Find your happiness and stick with it, the energy and motivation will come eventually, and when it does make use of it! Until then, keep smiling, and take each day as it comes. Bad times don’t last forever :) Hugs and much love for you, I hope life takes you to a place that you want to be :)

JaffaCaffa

ahh you’re too kind. ;_; Thanks so much for your lovely words, it really means a lot. Made me smile. :) You’re right of course and was just what I needed to hear.

I hope you end up enjoying Renowned Explorers as much as I did whenever you get a copy! Happy gaming and wishing you all the best as well. x

Formidolosus

Hey someone else that enjoyed Max! That’s awesome. My kids loved playing it with me, and I have to keep it installed for the older one as he keeps wanting to go back to it and play his favourite levels.

JaffaCaffa

Aw that’s great. :) I have such fond memories of playing video games with my dad growing up, glad there’s games like Max that can be fun for everyone!

Trent

My kids and I loved Max– it was one of my son’s favorite games (he’s 5). I kinda suck at 3D platformers so I didn’t find it particularly easy. I switched to KB+M from controller so I could get past certain sections (you can probably guess which ones). I still haven’t uninstalled it in case we want to go back and get more eyes and amulet pieces. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the update!

As for the problem you had with V, I hope you have a work-around. You might need to contact the site creator (Mandrill) and see if he can add it manually for you.
