End of 2018 status
All games:
Compared to end of 2017:
Increase in number of games: 42 (1217->1259)
Increase in number of beaten games: 43 (129->172)
Increase in number of completed games: 6 (39->45)
Overall: Success! Backlog decreased by 7!
Steamgifts wins:
Compared to end of 2017:
Increase in number of SG wins: 4
Increase in number of beaten games: 21 (32->53)
Increase in number of completed games: 0 (6->6)
Overall: Success! Only won 4 games, but finished 21. Since I won’t be winning any more games on SG it should be pretty easy to keep the SG backlog under control.
Favourite games I played in 2018:
- Detroit: Become Human
- Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition
- Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered
- God of War
- Orwell: Keeping an Eye On You
- Oxenfree
- Quantum Break
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider
- Sid Meier’s Civilization VI
- Technobabylon
- Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands
And since everyone seems to be doing their gaming NY resolutions (4k, ha-ha…ha…), here are some of my goals for 2019:
- Finish at least one game for the monthly theme every month.
- Have 50% completion for games Added in 2019.
- Reach 50% completion for Gifts & Other Wins. Currently:

Hey, really seems you have managed to make a serious dent in your backlog. The added by year list is a great idea, I hope it’s okay if I steal it for the new year!
How did you like ‘Project Hospital’? I keep coming back to its storepage again and again :D
Of course, steal whatever will help you in your fight against The Backlog. :)
I reeeeally liked Project Hospital - it had theCIV “one more turn!” thing for me except that this time it was “Just one more day!”. I most enjoyed the diagnosing/treating patients aspect of the game, but if you’re more interested in management/building, then I don’t know if you’d like it that much - if you leave the doctors alone, they can be very inefficient. [Just make sure you’re not mistaking it for Two Point Hospital, like most people. :D]

‘Two Point Hospital’ was actually the game that made me aware of ‘Project Hospital’. But I like the more serious approach of the latter more, judging from the little streamed gameplay I’ve seen.
Thank you for the short review, sounds great. Which means I want it even more now, haha. I guess I’ll get it in a sale. Just not this one. The next one. My plans for January are already kinda laid out as I want to finally participate in a monthly theme again.
Whoah, that’s a lot of gifts :D Also, congrats on decreasing your backlog! ^_^ Sensible resolutions, as well :)
As for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, how would you compare it to the one from 2013 and Rise (the predecessors)?
Yep, my friends were waaaay too kind to me this year! Luckily they also have a very good taste in games so I’m looking forward to playing the new additions to my backlog. :)
I’d say Shadow of the Tomb Raider is just more of the same thing. Which is very much fine with me since my expectations and standards for TR games aren’t that high - I just want to be entertained and have fun. I can ignore bad storylines and the bad (imo) voice actress. :) I recommend it if you liked the previous two.
Congrats on the progress!
How did you create that template for Detroit become human?
Thank you!
Easy peasy - I copied the code from one of the other games I finished and then manually changed the playtime/trophies/name & cropped a picture from the internet so it fit in the box.
you’re splitting 50% to all sorts of different sections aaaa just make it a 50% on your whole backlog and be done with it \o/
its actually smart though good luck dummy
/giphy ain’t nobody got time for that

Jackbox not on the list, no wonder :blobdogsob:
Finding Paradies
Wow spoilers
Oh no, a spelling mistake. :(
Nice progress !
Silly question, how do you make those pretty status lines and them to fit with the dates ? This website has too many witchcraft thingy I don’t understand.
Just steal this code and input your own data, if you ever need it. Your posts are much prettier than mine, though, so you might want to reconsider using the sort of layouts I use. :)
<div class="list-progress">
<div class="progress-bar game-never-played" title="never played: 20 of 55 games" style="width: 36%;">36% never played</div>
<div class="progress-bar game-unfinished" title="unfinished: 17 of 55 games" style="width: 31%;">31% unfinished</div>
<div class="progress-bar game-beaten" title="beaten: 12 of 55 games" style="width: 22%;">22% beaten</div>
<div class="progress-bar game-completed" title="completed: 6 of 55 games" style="width: 11%;">11% completed</div>
</div>
Thank you for the code, It’s a great addition nonetheless to see your progress ^^ !
Congrats on the progress and on the win over the backlog in 2018. I wish i could say the same Good luck with your resolutions, they seem like manageable ones. I should steal the 50% completion on the new added games.
How is Hitman Go compared to tomb raider go btw, is it the same kind of game?
It’s the same kind of movement and controls, but the gameplay is different in the same way that the two game franchises are different - Hitman has more sneaking and killing, whereas Tomb Raider felt a bit more puzzle-y. Definitely play Hitman GO if you liked TR GO!
I’ll need to find a key for it, hopefully it will be in a bundle in the near future (TR go was in a monthly, right?)
