Really fun and perfect to empty your mind.

Glass Masquerade 2: Illusions

They added a few free puzzles to promote the DLCs. More of the same.

Wintermoor Tactics Club

11 hours playtime, 24 of 29 achievements

Greatests game in the genre I've played in a long while. Reminded me of Final Fantasy Tactics but with a fun parody theme. Great art, great writing and cool gameplay that was a mix of Turned based tactics fights and interactive VN storytelling. A++, strongly recommended.

Summer Paws

2 hours playtime, 23 of 23 achievements

Recommended to those who love cats & liked Hidden Paws and Hidden Paws Mysteries. Prettier than the previous ones, and they fixed the motion sickness enducing camera movements.

The Flower Collectors

2 hours playtime, 8 of 13 achievements

Great story and historical background, great art style, unperfect gameplay, but most of all very high price tag for a 2h long game. Recommend if discounted or bundled though.

Most Exciting Addition is right, 428 is a goddamn treat. Hope you’ll enjoy it whenever you get around to it :D

EvilBlackSheep

I finally caved in last time it was on sale even though the size of the backlog was telling me I shouldn’t

JaffaCaffa

Wintermoor Tactics Club and The Flower Collectors both look really interesting! Whenever I catch your monthly reports you always seem to have some great indie games in there and get excited to read your thoughts. :)

Also thank you, that’s good to know about Summer Paws and motion sickness. I was interested in their previous games but after just a small look at gameplay I knew it’d be way too bad for me. Will look into this one instead, the theme looks cute too.

Am super intrigued by 428: Shibuya Scramble as well, hope you enjoy it!

p.s. I love the header.

EvilBlackSheep

Wintermoor is really a strong recommend if you like turned based tactics (be warned that it’s not super hardcore though, and the battles are nowhere as big as something like Xcom). The Flower Collectors, I wish i could recommend it more but it’s hard when they’re asking 20€ for 2h of gameplay. The writing and the art are really great though, the gameplay is a like rough. And thanks. I’m usually trying to keep an eye out for interesting indie games.

The header is actually from Summer Paws, definitely skip the previous ones (especially the very first one) if you’re prone to motion sickness and go for this, it didn’t have the problem at all (and yes it’s gorgeous).

428 was greatly recommended to me, I’ll report about it whenever i come around to play it myself.

JaffaCaffa

As much as I like turned based tactic games, I tend to get overwhelmed by the bigger ones later down the line and prefer to watch people play stuff like XCOM. So this looks like it could be down my alley.

And yeah I’ll wait for a sale/bundle with The Flower Collectors. A lot of these more artsy, short but sweet games I very much enjoy but paying full price is a tough sell. Thanks again for all the info. :)

EvilBlackSheep

Then yes Wintermoor is definitely more for you, it’s not too simplistic but the tactics are pretty chill (yet you can try to SSS rank every battle which then is way harder) and the game itself is really nice.

About the flower collectors, I was surprised cuz their first game, The lion’s song, was way cheaper yet longer and better executed. That being said, this studio is GREAT at story telling and researching their historical stuff, which make their game very appealing to me.

JaffaCaffa

Ohh didn’t recognise the dev’s name, had no idea was the same people. Played the first episode but never continued on with the rest (got distracted by other games and honestly forgot about it). I think each chapter is seperate though(?), should remedy that and continue on. I do enjoy story heavy games that delve deeper into people’s conversations and focus more on the psyche, will have to keep an eye out for future games by them. Interesting how visually different Flower Collectors is.

EvilBlackSheep

If i recall correctly the chapters were separate but all the stories would intertwine the more you advance in the chapters. It was really a nice surprise. I think you’ll enjoy the flower collectors too just don’t buy it at full price cuz well you know, 2h.

They really did fix the motion sickness issue in Summer Paws. I would have appreciated the option to disable motion blur though. Either way I had 0 motion sickness from it. I did find the game way too easy though as you said. I still liked it the most in the franchise so far.

EvilBlackSheep

Yeah i feel like the reduction of zoom distance and camera movements range/speed solved the issue, but made it that they couldn’t hide some items as much. Still my favourite too, mostly for the motion sickness being solved.

An Island full of cats?! You got my attention!
You have a lot of nice looking games. Thank you for sharing your progress and thoughts about them.
Can I ask how you make such a clean report? I mean the stats and tabs and such.
I’ve been wanting to make a report, and how you did yours really speaks to me.

LeoTurambar

When you see something nicely rendered here, a good approach - if you want to play a little with the codes - is selecting the part you’re interested to, right-click and do “inspect element” (or similar command). This way you can find the code used to build the element you’re interested to - may that be a table, a graph, and so on. I’m not sure there is an easier way to do this.

EvilBlackSheep

Thanks! As LeoTurambar said just before, the easiest way to use a similar report than mine is look at the code and adapt it for you. In addition, another backlog assassin (Akantha) once shared the code for the tab layout that i’m still using. You can find it here I know that some people are using a code generator for their posts but i don’t remember who made it, you’ll have to look around other BLAEO posts. Hope it helps, feel free to ask more questions if you need.

Eleonora Falcon

Thank you both so much for your replies! 💜
