So… it must be the most empty report I’ve ever made… Also it was a shitty month, glad to see it end!

Richard & Alice has been in my wishlist for quite some time and I missed the bundle in which it was… finally ended up winning it on SG. It was even better than I thought, the atmosphere was great, and the music and all this snow… I’m still missing 2 endings. Hope August won’t be such a jerk as July was and I’ll have time to see those endings.
Deus Ex Machina was a gift from HerrNieschnell and daaaamn it was confusing and great and everyone should play it (Dear whitelist & APG/PA, you might see some GAs for this in the near future)
Really Big Sky was a gift from Jagdtiger and ooooh do I love pewpew games!
And finally drumrollssss Northgard which was a gift from Revan himself (AH!), and yesterday night I finally beat the AI (I’m finally getting it! That took time…)
In some other news, I finally finished the last season of Doctor Who… now I’m sad because it means no DW until Christmas… Also some of my favorite characters are gone (maybe?)
Alsoooooo, new doctor YAY!
Is the future going to be all girl?
We can only hope so…
And started Broadchurch… have to say Mrs Illidan was right. It’s really great!

Any favourite characters yet? To be frank I really disliked Mark in 1st season, however in 3rd season he quickly became my most favourite character in the entire series. That man made me cry a lot in the last season! Olivia Colman is awesome, I wish they picked her as the doctor :(
What did you think of Northgard? Also do you enjoy RTS in general? I admit I’m dying to play Northgard but it’s in early access and currently there is no campaign. They mentioned they’ll add it eventually so I’m waiting for the game to get out of early access but I think it’s already one of the best EA games out there from what I watched so far.
I really like Olivia Colman! She’s even better than I thought. What surprised me the most is David Tennant. I mainly saw him as the 10th doctor and he’s so happy all the time and funny… but in Broadchurch, damn! His character is so dark… and I’m only 4 episodes in…
I really don’t like Mark and this man with a shaved head (Mark’s coworker). Also Walder Frey broke my heart. This scene where he’s forced to explain what happened to his wife…
Northgard is amazing! It is my first RTS, so not too sure on how to answer your question but so far, so good! Although I’m quite bad at it… I’m more used to turn-based, so sometimes (meaning always) I take way too much time doing things… Soon (hopefully) I should be able to get around the fact that this game is NOT Civ with vikings :)
Also the famous “Winter is coming” has never made so much sense to me!
Under “campaign “ in the menu is written “coming soon” so, hopefully it really is soon!
Olivia Colman would have owned that Doctor role so much so that noone else would be a decent fit to take that role again :D I admit that the
Jack Marshall story was really sad (Walder Frey?). Right now Mark is shown as the cheating husband who didn’t care about his son and doesn’t even seem that much affected by his death. In 3rd season it looks like his death finally catches up to him and he takes it A LOT harder than his wife (yay the new doctor). It makes me question if he was in denial during 1st season, maybe he thought it was all so surreal or a dream? Either way, I really disliked him in 1st season too. Or simply the writers really wanted us to think of him as the killer so he needed to be made to look like that so the viewers would speculate about the suspects.
Oh you’ve never played an RTS before Northgard. Alright. I prefer to play slowly too but that’s because I like having a huge army and building a bunch of defenses. I don’t really like rush tactics although I did rush Rise of Nations to 100% in on Steam because I had already completed it like 5 times in my life outside of Steam. I really love the RTS genre, that’s why Northgard is special because we don’t really get recent additions to this genre and if someone wants to quench that thirst, they need to resort to childhood games like Age of Empires, Warcraft etc. I truly hope that Northgard will wake the genre up.
Is that phrase being used in the game? I didn’t know. There is nothing special about it but I guess just because some popular character says it in a popular TV show, it MUST be the next best thing!!! Right? :P From what I know, winter in Northgard has some very harsh conditions in which you need to keep your people happy. I think it’s simply a friendly warning but as for whatever reason it seems to be a popular phrase, therefore some might look down on it thinking it was a copy cat (maybe it was, but we can’t know unless we ask developers :D)
Being used to Blizzard ways, “soon” can mean 1-2 years :D Anyway one day it’ll get added hopefully, it doesn’t look like the developers will abandon it.
Walder Frey is a character played by David Bradley in Game of Thrones - as I didn’t know his real name nor his character’s name in Broadchruch, I used the one I knew :)
I agree! Olivia Colman would have been great as the doctor - that would have made a nice change, let’s hope she’ll be the 14th doctor…
I stilll haven’t watch more episodes of Broadchurch, hopefullly I’ll be able to this WE! (I wish someone would drop a Tardis on my doorstep…)
No, “Winter is coming” is not in the game, that’s just me putting it there! Although it makes so much sense in Northgard… All my first games were me vs winter, and winter won :p
Also, someone told me Northgard lacks depth for a RTS, whatever that means…
