I recently subbed to Origin Access. I don’t know if Origin games count in the backlog department? I’ve already finished one of them though…

My recent Steam games are Batman Arkham Knight, Mad Max & INFRA. Why I chose to install 2 games with insane amounts of side quests & collectables I’ll never know! I played about 20 or so hours on Mad Max, but ended up uninstalling it to clear up a bit of space as I was starting to get a little bored due to it being very very very repetitive. I have similar boredom issues with games that force you to grind to level up to progress further in the main story (final fantasy & other such games - yawn). Loved FF7, suffered through 8 & 9 to the very end. Tried to suffer through most of the others before 7 & after 9 & I’ve ended up dropping them all after about 10-20 hours playtime due to boredom. I have a love/hate relationship with the Borderland games because of how much grinding is involved in leveling up your character(s).

Anyway, I’ve beaten the main story-line of Batman Arkham Knight. I just have a few things to do to face off against Deathstroke & about a gazillion collectables & puzzles to solve before wimpy Riddler comes out of hiding. Then it’s onto the DLC content. Why oh why do they cram so much content into the Batman Arkham games? It’s ridiculous. Arkham Knight isn’t as bad as Arkham City & the 400+ Riddler collectables, puzzles & challenges, but still… it requires a lot of effort & patience to complete the entire game.

As for INFRA, I’ve finished part 1 & I believe I’m about half way through part 2. I started getting a little bored though as I’m spending way too much time searching around for all the photograph-able spots rather than following the main story just for the sake of getting a few achievements. :P

Meanwhile on Origin…

I played & finished the main story missions & story side-quests for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst over the weekend. I finished a few of the challenges too, but they didn’t really add all that much to the experience as there was no story involved with those, so I’ve uninstalled it & shall mark it as “beaten” but not fully tamed.

After uninstalling that, I installed “Unravel” which is aeshetically pleasing both audibly & visually, but it’s depressing the hell out of me & I’m only 4 levels in. I have a feeling some of the levels are going to hurt my brain from overthinking on how best to utilize available wool resources responsibly before too long, so I don’t know if I will end up beating or ditching this game in favor of something like the Mass Effect series.

Updates on other platforms are always welcome in my opinion, even though the tool on this website only focuses on our Steam libraries. There are many people here who play and share their thoughts of their console games as well.

Since this is your first update, I assume you’ve recently joined? If so, then welcome :)

Yes, just joined. Cheers. :)

Until last year I was a console gamer. It took me 4 years to accumulate about 150 -ish games for the Xbox 360. Since I started using Steam properly last Christmas time I’ve collected over 350+ games. PC gaming is so damn cheap I’m literally spoiled for choice - hence the backlog…

The one benefit of console gaming is that unless you have loads of money floating about you only buy the odd game now & then, which meant that I played & finished nearly all of the games I’ve owned on the various consoles I’ve had over the years compared to the 20 or so games I’ve finished on Steam.

I’ve been going through the same transition this year. I’m still stuck in my old habits that I play all my Steam games with a controller, because I’m just hopeless trying to play with a mouse and keyboard. And like you said, PC gaming is a very different world right now with the bloated Steam store of over 10 000 titles. Nowadays I need to judge whether I should get a free game or not, just because there are so many out there.

Just a tip if you didn’t notice yet: There’s a smaller reply icon under every comment, if you use that you can reply to that specific comment. That way the other user will get a notification. The default comment box at the bottom of the page is deceiving, I know because I still make the same mistake myself sometimes. :)

Aye, sorry. I didn’t notice the little arrow icon at first. Spotted it earlier on though.

I play quite a few games with my 360 controller still as well, but I try to use keyboard & mouse for online FPS games (except Borderlands as there’s no benefit over keyboard + mouse vs. gamepad). I think Battlefield & Insurgency are about the only games I play with keyboard & mouse, except from point & click games as some are mouse only. I play all of Telltale Games titles with gamepad - Portal, Rocket League, Bioshock, Batman & so on too. There’s just something more relaxing about sitting back away from the monitor with a gamepad than sitting hunched over your keyboard & mouse with the monitor right in your face - well for me at least. :)

Oh yeah, using a controller is much more comfortable for me too. I’m happy that gamepad support has become a more common thing in PC games.

It’s a shame that sometimes you have no choice but to use mouse & keyboard in some games. I once tried Arma 2. I had to give up after 5 minutes because:

a. I had no clue what I was doing.
b. because I couldn’t remember the 5 million key configurations.

I think that game requires you to assign nearly every key for something or other - simulations for you. I have a hard enough time remembering my keys in Insurgency. :D

Yeah, luckily there are not too many games with a massive amount of controls. There’s enough combinations in a controller that I need to remember when I’m playing a game that has an unusual control layout. :)

About those tabs: I got the HTML code from Akantha, she has a few HTML template pages in her profile. Here’s a direct link to pastebin on how to create the tab layout.

Cheers for the link to the user account & pastebin (not used that myself in quite a while as I have a wiki with color code syntax module now). :)

I played something recently with gamepad & it wouldn’t let me change the button layout. Felt really awkward because the layout was similar to PS button layout with aim/shoot being on the bumper buttons rather than the triggers. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst felt a little strange as well at first but I got used it after about an hour or so of playing.

Quick question: how did you create the dynamic content tabs on your profile page? I noticed another member did a similar thing recently but with screenshots in their post.
