My backlog is all over the place, PS5, Epic, Nintendo consoles, but right now it’s time to demolish the Steam part of it :)
My lists are organised alphabetically

Update 6
Time to pull up the hero template for this one, cause I’ve played another 10/10 game. Summer means PS5 and Switch gaming for me, since my room gets too hot for me to be comfortable using my PC, so it looks like I’ll probably be failing PoP this time, but that’s ok I’ll be right back at it for the last cycle! (btw if one buys a game from humble, how does one know if it’s region restricted??). Also, I keep on getting my steam beaten games numbering wrong, guess I’m lucky there’s none of those in this update haha.
Games beaten:
I need to start this off by saying that I absolutely hate turn based combat. This game though, it's different. It's a top 10 ever type of game. Not only is the gameplay extremely fun, especially with the real time dodge and parry mechanics, it also has arguably the best story that gaming has seen yet. Of course, I cannot end this review without mentioning the OST. I've been listening to certain songs on repeat and it gets even better once you realise what the lyrics mean and how they relate directly to the story (reminds me a bit of how the Alan Wake games did it). This is peak storytelling and the game in my eyes at least, is a masterpiece. I've beaten it twice now, once through game pass since I didn't think it was going to be a game I liked, second time on PS5 cause ofc I had to buy it properly. For those who come after, right?
I mean, I had some fun. Mainly just got it for the mouse mini games. I genuinely enjoyed my time going through the game, but it's not something I'll touch again. We all know this should've been free.
The best Mario Kart. Imagine playing as a cow, grinding on rails and speeding away on walls, it's so fun. 24 players is so chaotic and feels a lot more casual. Also, I LOVE knockout mode.
Anyway, I did pretty much everything the game has to offer in order to unlock mirror mode, safe to say this is a great Switch 2 launch title.
Abandoned. For now?
My game pass ran out so kinda just left this here. I feel satisfied with the amount of the game I played and it was starting to get a little boring, but maybe one day I'll return to finish the story. Tbf I feel like one of the only things I didn't like about this game were the oblivion gates (and encumbrance), which kind of sucks considering they're a huge part of it lol. Anyway, the game looks beautiful and it was so easy to just get lost in the world, like I would love to just live in like cheydinhal or something. I think the side quests are where game really shines. Gameplay feels surprisingly good and fun despite it being somewhat clunky and the levelling system is great. I've never played the original and never got into Skyrim (tho I tried that as a kid with horrible gaming skills so I could possibly like it now), but this remaster makes me understand why people love the elder scrolls games so much.
not including achievements cause I had to use the console when I got stuck in a rock after closing an oblivion gate, apparently a common issue. I don't care about game pass achievements, but if this was on steam I would be raging
Currently playing:
Elden Ring Nightreign (after almost 30 hours I’m starting to feel the repetitiveness, so idk when I’ll be beating this might have to take a break)
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (looks and runs amazing on the Switch 2)
Beyond: Two Souls (istg I’ll finish this, ik it’s been on here for ages)
Split Fiction (if it was up to me this would have been beaten ages ago, but unfortunately convincing my brother to play is not easy)
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
No new steam backlog additions this time I think.
Update 5
It’s been a while since the last update, I’ve been playing more games than I have time to finish.
Games beaten:
Replayed on hardcore, one of my favourite games of all time.
Games beaten??? I don’t know if these have an actual ending, but I feel like I’ve done everything important:
Very addictive at the start, but once you get everything automated it's gets a little boring since all you're doing is restocking shelves. Still quite an impressive game for a solo dev, it really was fun and I'll probably dive back into it once it gets a big update.
Extremely fun with friends, pure chaos. I don't think it reaches the hype of prime lethal company, but still a great game.
I've had this game for a while, but avoided playing it solo. I finally decided it was worth a shot to play some of it alone, and suddenly I was hooked. I've played all the trials and done some of the escalation therapy as well, it's really not that hard playing solo. I love seeing how at the start I struggled with the first trials and now they seem easy to me. If you're someone that's waiting for friends to play with, just know that it's very fun and very doable even alone.
Also my hours of hitting skill checks in dead by daylight have made me a champion at arm wrestling haha.
Currently playing:

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Split Fiction
-
Beyond: Two Souls
New backlog additions:
Dead Island 2 (free)
Update 4
Well after that Switch 2 direct, this year is gonna be stacked with great games. In the meanwhile this is what I’ve been up to recently.
Games beaten:
I don't get the hate for this game, I actually really liked it. Tbf I haven't played any other other of their games like LiS tho, and I do love anything that's like a detective mystery.
This was great, and the new mechanics each chapter kept it feeling fresh.
So surprisingly I ended up going back to this after watching a friend play for a bit, and managed to beat it twice. I then proceeded to get screwed by the same boss that wouldn't let me play repeat hand types, essentially destroying my crazy flush build completely. This happened on both my wins at ante 10, I vowed never to open the game again after this.
Tbh this really isn't a game for me. I have no reason to go back to it, I'm happy with just beating it.

Update 3
Gaming has been a little weird since the last update, as I started a YouTube channel and it’s surprisingly hard to try and find a good balance between working on a new video and gaming. I had to go play games like Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne again, and it feels very unusual to play games for a video instead of purely for my enjoyment. Anyway, here’s what I did manage to do since then, even if it’s not much!
Games beaten:
It was cute and charming, controls felt a little janky at times but that wasn't really an issue.
Finally, I've beaten this. It took a lot of suffering. There were parts that I really didn't like, especially towards the end. BUT it's not a bad game by any means. The start of the game is very strong and in my opinion the ending and the lore are very good as well. The amount of choice you get as a player to approach the game in any way you want is impressive, but definitely a bit overwhelming. There are a lot of mechanics to remember. It has some highs and peaks like the fight when the music is playing while you're getting the voice samples and some pretty low lows.
Am I glad I finished it? Sure. My friend is happy that I played through his favourite game and that alone already made it worth it. Will I ever touch it again? No.
Games abandoned:
Ok ok chill out, I know this is a game that everyone loves.
I don't get it tho.
I've tried to give this game a fair chance. However, there hasn't been a single moment where I thought to myself that this is fun. I understand that the whole game is like a puzzle, where you search for clues in the text you read and somehow piece it all together. The problem is, I find it hard to care for any of it. There was nothing to really make me feel invested in the world and want to discover the secrets of some ancient civilisation, so I just constantly find myself skipping through all the text I find and any dialogue I start. I really want to like this game, and feeling like this just makes me feel like there's something wrong with me, but I don't think there's anything I can do to change that.

New backlog additions:
Citizen Sleeper
Also bought Elden Ring for Steam, though I’ve played through it multiple times on my PS5 already.
Update 2
Some good gaming going on since last time, let’s get right to it!
Games beaten:
It's unbelievable how good this game is. I fell in love with it immediately and ended up doing a second playthrough on hardcore right after. Kim Kitsuragi is now easily one of my favourite gaming characters of all time. Everyone should experience this game at some point in their life, it is a masterpiece.
The combat in this game suuuckss. The parkour is janky sometimes but it can be fun (sometimes…) If it wasn't for PoP I would have abandoned the game, and even then if it was slightly longer I probably wouldn't have finished it anyway. I'll admit it started off pretty well, but unfortunately fell off as combat became more prominent.
Other platforms:
I probably spent like an hour just staring at the lighting and other visuals, because this game is absolutely beautiful. The gameplay is the main thing keeping this game from getting a higher rating, as it is quite basic and not particularly interesting. Thankfully the story is your typical great Indiana Jones story, was fun throughout. The biggest gripe I have with this game is how annoying any character you are with is, especially Gina constantly shouting 'over here!' or 'Jones!!!' while you're just trying to look around a bit before interacting with her.
It was a little frustrating at times, in this sense I think the first one may have been better, but then again I don't remember much from the first one anymore. The ending made up for that though, as it definitely made me think about the game for a bit with how good it was.
Other than that I’ve tried a bit of Balatro when it came to PC Game Pass, but cards and roguelikes are two things I’m not into so that only lasted for about 6 hours. I’d consider this as abandoned, but it’s also a great game to pull up when I’m sitting in a boring uni lecture, so I’m not making an official abandoned post for it.

No new progress on Prey. I don’t want to play this anymore, but it’s one of my best friends’ favourite game, so I’m really trying to get through it.
New backlog additions:
Golden Light (free)
I did also active my free 3 months of PC Game Pass and there’s a few games I want to play on there, technically that counts as backlog?
Hello everyone, new here so here’s my attempt at a first post! I’ve been checking the activities page every so often to gain some inspiration on how to structure this, so that’s still a work in progress and might change with time. Anyway, here’s hoping I’ll have fun here while getting through my backlog a bit faster this year :)
Games beaten since joining BLAEO:
Some of the mechanics of this game were very fun, but there were some weaker areas especially near the end. I can see why people would love this game, so maybe metroidvanias just aren't my thing.
