January summary
I forgot to make a post for January… OTL But here I am! Classes started early January, so I was only able to play before the term started. I have my internship this term, so I’ve been busy with work on weekdays, plus we have some events for our organization on Saturdays so I’m also busy with org stuff on weekends. ;-;
I finished only 2 games last month, both of them SG wins. First one was Agatha Christie: The ABC Murders, then I played Jurassic Park: The Game. Both were interesting, but JP’s gameplay was a bit iffy. It wasn’t really a big deal, but I just get irritated by it sometimes. The animation is kinda slow. I mean, I guess I should have expected that since it’s older game than TWD. When you pause the game there’s an animation thing that’s kinda annoying. But that’s about it, I guess? I played it for the story anyway, so it didn’t really matter much for me. I liked both games.
I then continued with Serial Cleaner, although I only managed to get 4 more achievements for it. Then I got to play Screencheat with my friends, but only for a while as we just played for a while. It was fun, although we didn’t have enough controllers so we had to switch out every so often.
December summary
It’s the end of the month… and that means an update on played games!
First off, I tried The Warlock of Firetop Mountain. I think it’s okay so far, but the constant dying and replaying is just a tad frustrating at times. (I know this is basically the concept of the game, but the slow and unsteady pacing kind of puts me off a bit…) The story is interesting though, so I can probably get back into it again in the near future.
And then the Winter Sale came.
And so I bought Life is Strange: Before the Storm and immediately played it. I’ve been wanting to buy it since it was announced, to be honest, but I restrained myself from doing so because of financial concerns. Until this sale. I know it’s the same price as it was in the last sale, but I just couldn’t wait any longer. (I’m sorry, inner frugal self…)
Honestly? I’d say it was 100% worth it. It took me a few days to complete the game because my laptop kept heating up while playing so I only ran it at about an hour or so at maximum every time, but it was worth the trouble and effort. I really love both games in the franchise so far. And yes, perhaps both have been a bit… lacking in the endings department (according to many people), but what I really appreciate in the LiS games is the middle; I appreciate the story in its whole, and the characters’ development as well.
Here’s to hoping LiS2 will be as awesome or even better.
After completing Before the Storm, I got that feeling of emptiness after you finish something you feel very strongly about. So I thought about playing casual games instead of embarking on yet another heavy story-based game.
I looked at my SG wins and picked Serial Cleaner. It’s… an interesting game. It’s a stealth game, and it’s funnily frustrating as hell. I haven’t finished the story mode yet, but I’ll try to do so during the next months. I blame myself for being somewhat of an achievement hunter. Because of that, I progress slower since I try to 100% every stage. ;-;
I played Overcooked with my little sister as well. We just tried it for the heck of it, and it was actually really fun… and also exasperating, especially when your sister is not very good at the game. Still very fun to play, though.
Aaaaand that's it for this year! (...I think?)
I don’t think I’ll get significant playtime for the last day of the year since I’ll probably get dragged around for New Year’s anyway, so I just did this post today instead.
Hoping (again…) that I can get to play more stuff next year!
Happy new year, everyone! :)
November summary
Played Northgard again, and unlocked a few achievements! The number of total achievements in the game has gone up from 44 to 55 recently, though… ;-;
I tried playing The Hive too. I won this a year ago, I think, and I’m ashamed to say that this is the first time that I’ve tried playing it… :( It seems okay so far. There’s no manual save option, though, so I’d have to play the stage through when I play it. :/
On that note, I should probably play more games. I haven’t been playing through my backlog as quickly as I want to… sigh. Hopefully I can play more games during this December, since it would be our term break then.
October summary
School has started… ;-; I explored ABZU and was able to complete two levels. Also played Pixel Heroes and was able to finish some achievements and complete an adventure for the first time!
I discovered that Insaniquarium was on Steam during the sale and immediately bought it because I loved playing it when I was a kid. Funny story, I have 7 copies of Insaniquarium in my purchase history, because I told my friends that it was on Steam and they made Steam accounts just to play it. They didn’t have credit cards so I just bought it for them. HAHAHA. ((I’m hoping that they’ll go down the rabbit hole of gaming so that I can play MP games with them, lmao.))
I bought it three days ago and I’ve already completed the main adventure and am now on stage 3 of the bonus adventure. Kek.
So… yeah. It’s been almost 9 months since I last posted. I have played some games during that time, of course, but I failed to make monthly posts for them because I’d been recently very busy with academics and org stuff, as I once mentioned in my previous post. I’m also kinda anxious about making posts, because I get the nagging feeling that I’m not doing these things right. But no matter. I am here now, and I’ll just summarize what I’d been doing since my last post.
March
I tried playing Portal, but I got terrible motion sickness when I did. I had to lie down for a few hours after playing for almost an hour, so that was not a good experience. I’m really disappointed because I wanted to play and it does seem like a fun game.
April
I replayed Life is Strange for the third time. My first and second playthrough wasn’t in Steam, so I decided to play it again and get the achievements. It still is my favorite game of all time. I love the characters and their dynamics so much. I also started Naruto Shippuden for a while, then I got distracted by acads again, so I wasn’t able to continue.
May - August
It was another term full of acads and projects and org stuff, so I wasn’t able to play much, but I finished Plantera and Highway Blossoms during this time. I continued HPAWS for a bit and unlocked some of the achievements. I played Northgard as well. It’s really fun because I like the strategy part, but it takes so much time per game.
September

Morningstar: Descent to Deadrock
-
Cross of the Dutchman

The Walking Dead: Season Two

One Way Heroics
-
Joe Dever's Lone Wolf HD Remastered

Tharsis
September was our university term break, so I got to play during the break! :D
Both Morningstar and Cross of the Dutchman were interesting. They’re both kinda short and Morningstar was a bit unsatisfying, but it was okay for me and I enjoyed the experience for both nonetheless. TWD2 was great!! I still liked the first one better, but this was also good! I had a hard time choosing whom I should go with in the end. I hope to get and play TWD3 soon!! I also already have Michonne, so I might play that soon as well. :)
I continued a few of the unfinished games I had, and I’m very close to completing OWH! I just need to find a certain item for the last epilogue I need and I’m done.
Well, that’s it for now.
I hope I’ll be less busy and be able to play a lot soon, and hopefully I can finish a few more games this year! Have a great month everyone! :D
Here again! I’ve played a few games since I last posted here. :D
Two completed games! One of which was TWD because I won 400 Days last month and immediately played it through. Kinda disappointing that I only actually completely finished one game since December, I know. :/
I loved TWD’s main story. 400 Days, however, kinda felt unsatistying? I don’t know, maybe it’s because it’s supposed to be an intro to the second season or something.
Sword of Asumi was… mediocre, I would say. I appreciate having female romanceable options as well as male ones. However, the story was a bit clichéd (imo), and the game is pretty short so the characters weren’t really fleshed out very much.
Two beaten games! I played through both and tried to get as many achievements as I could, but unfortunately, I didn’t 100% both and I’m probably not going to do so anytime soon because both have no option to skip already seen cutscenes. :(
I love Remember Me. Just… I love it. The story, the gameplay, all of it. (Well, maybe except the lack of an option to skip cutscenes.) I’m not really an expert on reviewing games and if I start I’m probably gonna ramble so I’ll just leave it at that.
The Descendant was interesting. I liked the story and I thought the ending was kinda good.
Aaaand I’m back!
After a bit more than a month of not posting anything… I’m sorry, I am terrible at posting stuff. :/ Also, with the tons of machine projects I have to pass and the orgs I’m in, I’ve been really busy this past month. Hopefully I’ll be less busy during the term break this December… but I still have to organize and plan for 2 events on January for 2 different orgs so probably not. ;-;
I’ve finally beaten Amnesia: Memories after a month! Well actually I basically only played for two days really, on Halloween night and today. I finished 2 routes on Halloween before getting really sleepy because it was like 3 or 4 am. AND THEN I completely forgot about it up until a while ago. (Pretty ironic, considering the title of the game, I would say.)
So, onto the game itself! Here’s the order of the routes I played: clover, diamond, spade, heart, joker. I’m really glad I chose Kent first, because I like him the best out of all of them. What a nerd. Shin is great, Ikki was okay, and Ukyo’s character was… kinda iffy but interesting enough. Only con is that I don’t like Toma at all. Nah, scratch that, I totally dislike him. :/ But anyway, I liked the game overall. :)
I really am terrible at finishing games… ;-; I almost always just start games, play for an hour or two, sometimes a few more, then never remember to finish them. It’s not that I don’t like the games I play, I actually pretty much enjoy most games, it’s just that sometimes I feel overwhelmed while playing?? Idk, I think I might have a short attention span… :/ How do you guys stay focused on just one game at a time? Also, I’m really impressed when I see the people here finishing a ton of games in one month! LIKE, HOW??? :o
This is my first post in here! Yay!
So I just beat TWD… and I absolutely loved it. I’ve been meaning to play it for quite a while now, just haven’t had time to. Excuses, I know. And now I’m really glad that I did.
Some parts of it made me emotional, I’ll say that. :’) Maybe I’m biased, but I love Lee’s character so much. He’s a great guy and he will not be forgotten.
Now I just have to buy or win! 400 Days (and play it ofc) to mark this as entirely complete. :) I can’t wait to play season 2. Also season 3 is set to be released soon, I heard, so that’s cool! :D
