Crossbourne
Week of Oct 1 - Oct 7
Hey everyone! Back again with another weekly report. Hope last week has been great for you.
Here’s what I’ve been up to this week:
- DiRT Showdown: Been attending some grinding sessions for reaching Lv.30 in multiplayer.
- True or False: Completed 100%. Easy achievements. Not exactly a “game”.
- Ancient Planet: Attempting 100%. Some levels are particularly hard. Some waves overwhelm instantly unless you have a very specific tower setup. Slowly getting there though.
- Zup!: Completed 100%. Easy & numerous achievements. Click boxes to make them explode. Took only 0.2hrs.
- simian.interface++: Completed 100%. Easy achievements. Not much different than it’s Flash counterpart.
- SquareCells: Attempting 100%. Last levels are hard, and are taking quite some time. It’s a nice puzzle game though, as expected from the dev(s) of Hexcells.
- McDROID: This is a very fun game, a different take on TD games. Although it’s quite buggy, it can be a blast when played in co-op.
Last week’s game nights:
Day | Game |
---|---|
Saturday | F.E.A.R. 3 - Played mostly Contractions in two groups of four. Was fun. I was sad to see that I’ve lost all my F.E.A.R. 3 progress. |
Wednesday | Post Apocalyptic Mayhem - Instead of doing regular races we played Total Mayhem on every map for 5 minutes each. Had a group of 5. The game tends to overvalue kills over laps though. |
Friday | Magic the Gathering - After half an hour of game issues, we decided on playing Two Headed Giant mode on Magic Duels. I got rekt on first match, playing with an AI partner against two human players with a starter deck. Second match was with 4 human players and was more balanced. Won that one (got carried). |
Last week’s boosted co-op objectives. This week was fruitful if I may say.
Date | Game | Objective | Result |
---|---|---|---|
Oct 1 | Depth | Jaws of Duty - Play an hour of Depth (rounded up) | Completed: First time playing this game. I really liked the concept, though the games tend to be very short due to the ticket system. I have nothing against tickets in multiplayer games, though 30 seemed a little low. Different shark types, traits, weapons and weapon upgrades keep the game exciting for a while, but the same go-to-A, guard-B gameplay gets boring after a while. |
Oct 2 | Frozen Synapse | Mail-In Objective - Finish a game | Failed: Not going to play before I figure out the game. |
Oct 3 | Worms Revolution | Wormageddon - Complete a game (any standard Worms game is suitable) | Completed: Played two 1v1 versus games on Intermediate settings with 45 secs turn time. Ninja rope handles more like a bungee rope in this game, which is hard to control if you’re used to how it is in previous Worms games. It was fun though. |
Oct 4 | Viscera Cleanup Detail | Someone’s Gotta Do It - Complete a level (other Viscera Cleanup games are suitable) | Completed: Cleaned one small map and the janitor’s office. We tried to clean everything we can, but got a 98% performance rating at the end. The physics engine tends to be all over the place on multiplayer games, so cleaning is challenging, but is still very fun when done in a party. We played (and got frustrated) in a four player party. |
Oct 5 | Post Apocalyptic Mayhem | Savage! Racer - Complete two races (3 laps or more) | Completed: Thanks to RNG gods this boosted objective coincided with game night! Because we played Total Mayhem not all races were completed with over 3 laps, but objective was achieved anyway. |
Oct 6 | Magic 2014 — Duels of the Planeswalkers | Chandra, Liliana, and Nissa Walk Into A Bar… - Participate in a four player free-for-all (any Magic game with the free-for-all mode is suitable) | Failed: Was busy. |
Oct 7 | Rock of Ages | Adventures of HNG - Complete a game | Completed: Played 8 different maps in battle mode (or w/e the default mode is called). Won them all. Hur hur hur. |
