A bit slower month for me failed some backlog killing events haha!
Damn pretty close to beating cyber hook but near the last levels requiring a bit more skill took a break from.
Persona 5 strikers almost done not too rushed but will try to finish next month~
Cuphead got some decent progress just taking a small break atfter dying to the Dice boss a couple times ^^

La Volpe

I lost my motivation at King Dice :P Good luck!

Would you recommend Dead Cells and Cuphead? These games are in my grey area where I am unsure if I will enjoy them. On paper, I probably should, however I don’t feel they are that good based on some things I read about them.

driedmangoe

Oh I would definitely myself! I guess depending on what you read that you might not like :P

Dead cells I think in general can’t go too wrong with its a pretty fun roguelite which has different styles to play, and can play as much as me or more~
Cuphead haha errrr would maybe watch some gameplay videos it’s more on the difficult platformer/tight boss fight area might make you ragequit for a bit/redo boss fights til you get a hang of it but that in itself is fun! But enjoying it so far and I love the way it looks.

Ok, thanks! I don’t particularly enjoy the art style of Dead Cells for some reason, and while I do enjoy roguelikes/roguelites, I mostly do it for the story or gameplay with some weird twist to them (for instance, I enjoyed Hades very much for the story and lore, Crypt of the NecroDancer for rhythm-based gameplay, and Dicey Dungeons for hilarious deckbuilding). I don’t see any twists to Dead Cells that might grip me. The roguelike/roguelite I am looking forward to play next is Noita. That game looks really fun at how everything is affected by what you do and what bonuses you get. About Cuphead, my main concern is that the game is just too hard, not in a good way. I mean, I love challenge if it is about skill, but not if it is RNG-based. I don’t like this combination. In my book, RNG is ok if it is meant to make things differ (again, like in Hades); it is not ok if it is meant to make you fail most of the time as a punishment.

Haha ya maybe some more research in gameplay for dead cells might not be your thing if art style isnt there for you, I guess other then that would be the variety of weapon choices and they way you traverse the map.

Not sure about reviews on cuphead I know it is hard/think it was hard myself (not done yet) but actually dont think it’s too much rng (I could be wrong haha). But a lot of the times after a bunch of practice on a level/boss I failed it’s more getting a hang of mechanics and leaning towards skill based for me. Lot of dodging things in a tight space!
