Small update
My first update since I started here. Hi everyone o/
I haven’t played much but I did finish some games.
Highlight of My Month
DEADBOLT was definitely the highlight of my last month of gaming. It was fast, hard (might be because I’m a bit stubborn >_<) and a lot of fun. The story had its fun twists too, and overall the game is worth playing in my opinion.
Game | Time played | Status(+ Achievements) |
---|---|---|
Voxelized | 2 Hours | Completed (1/1) |
Pony Island | 3 Hours | Completed (20/20) |
DEADBOLT | 6 Hours | Beaten (12/24) |
Refunct | 25 Minutes | Completed (4/4) |
Pixel Piracy | 22 Hours | Beaten(22/30) |
Fire Emblem 7 | 8 Hours | Still Playing (0/0) |
Epilogue
I’m quite happy how my post turned out to be, but it doesn’t look as good as the others on here! I still have to learn this whole Markdown thing. Hope to see you around next update! ^_^
Welcome to BLAEO :) Your post looks beautiful by the way!
DEADBOLT was recommended to me before but I dismissed it due to pixel graphics and action oriented stealth gameplay (and unapproachable achievements). If I am to play a stealth game it needs to give me the pacifist option and while watching gameplay videos or looking at screenshots all I saw was blood and action. Being forced to kill in order to continue was also confirmed by the person who suggested me the game so sadly I’ll have to let it go. I’m glad you had fun with it :)
Thank you! wasn’t sure if my post was too big or not, but it seems pretty good now.
You’re right about DEADBOLT, the game has a lot of action and not that much stealth, but I guess that is why I enjoyed it. I also played Hitman: Absolution by killing everybody. Nobody can spot you if they are dead :P
Who in their right mind would recommend you Deadbolt? It has way too much action for a stealth purist!
:P
:D
Deadbolt’s good isn’t it?! I loved it!
Yeah it was really fun! It reminded me a lot of NOT A HERO (I would recommend it but I guess you played it already :P) and I just had a great time with DEADBOLT. I would buy a sequel in a heartbeat (or probably anything from Hopoo Games in that case) so I hope there will be some kind of sequel sometime.
Yeah, played Not A Hero and enjoyed it a lot, too!
Check out some workshop levels for Deadbolt, maybe? I stretched the gameplay by getting some achievements and trying custom levels. I didn’t even make it past the first level in hard mode, though, so I put that option aside.
I see a small overlap in the games we’ve beaten and if that means we might have a similar taste in games then you’d love Broforce!
I honestly forgot about the workshop for DEADBOLT, thanks for reminding me. I also didn’t start hard mode because I didn’t really want to play the same game twice, only on a harder difficulty (and I thought it was too hard already hehe)
I actually loved Broforce! I played local coop with a friend so I don’t actually own it, but I might get it on a sale sometime…
Nice, that means my recommendation was good for once! I can see how it’s fun in local coop, but online coop is hell. Latency, sharing one camera and accidental friendly fire drove me insaaaaaane. I played the single player multiple times though. Something I rarely do.
Hey, welcome to the group! :) I don’t know if you’ve seen this guide yet, but it includes a few tips and links if you want to learn more about editing posts. The whole guide is worth a read, tso184 did a good job putting it together.
Have fun with your next games!
I have not seen that guide before, I’m definitely using it the next time I’m posting something. I will have fun with my next games, and I hope you do too!
Congratulations on finishing Pixel Piracy, one of my favourite games I played in 2016. Have you tried the follow up Pixel Privateers?
I haven’t tried it and probably won’t. After the first legendary boss the game kinda got boring, just stomping everyone with my already established crew. The lag got really bad after a while and I couldn’t scroll up and down through the ship which was pretty annoying. These little things all made the game way less fun for me, it just became a race to beat the other legendaries and called the game finished. The game had so much potential which was never really reached.
All in all, the “sequel” is probably better and fixed a lot of those things but I don’t feel like dropping money on it at the moment.
Edit: sorry if my message looks mean >_<
Welcome aboard, dude. Clean and concise posts are a great thing to have. :D
Yup, I’m planning to post every month and maybe make some small updates in between. This post turned out pretty clean, and was relatively easy to make, so I will be posting more in the near future!
Ah Fire Emblem 7. Was the first Fire Emblem game I played (only played and liked the gameboy games). Too bad that Lyndis is not canon with its sequel. I liked her the most from all the Lords. It is a shame that not many games have this kind of conversation system to create character depth.
I started with Shadow Dragon for the DS but found that a bit too hard (I was pretty young at that point) and finished awakening on 3DS some years ago. Even though the new games have changed a lot (for better or worse), I still love the charm of pixel art and the older GBA fire emblem games. Fire Emblem is a really cool series and I’m glad it is starting to gain its attention from Nintendo.
