Progress Report #2: February
New and Upgraded Updates
This February has been crazy, so much snow but with March finally here spring is at our doors… at least here:) Also it’s March break here so I have a whole week off, the perks of working in a school! I have a lot to do but hopefully I’ll be able to put a dent in my backlog. I’ve been so busy lately with work and I’m also going to school to get another certification for work so it’s been quite hectic for me lately.
Let’s get to what we’re all here for… gaming update!
My Highlight this month is The Low Road. It’s a very nice point & click game, I love the retro atmosphere and the puzzle are all reasonably challenging without being frustratingly hard. The graphics are great and very unique, all in all a very underrated gem. Maybe not to everyone’s taste but for fan of point & click it’s definitely a must try!
I’ve also managed to finish a couple more games this months. Two of those (Epic Adventures and MiniGolf) are SG’s wins but for some reason BLAEO is not registering them as such. MiniGolf was pretty fun but the camera is fix and without anyway to move it, the angle get quite awkward at time which made it difficult to play some more complicated course.
There’s also a couple of game that are still are missing some achievements that I’ll finish this month so March should be much more productive. And with the week off I should be able to finish a couple game before I have to go back to work!
- The Haunted Island, a Frog Detective Game
- Epic Adventures: La Jangada
- MiniGolf
- Delicious - Emily's Christmas Carol
- Hello Pollution!
- Greed: The Mad Scientist
- Alice in Wonderland - Hidden Objects
Thanks for reading 😊
That cat is perfect! :D
Very envious of the snow, as we had soooo little here. o.o
Okay, as a fan of point and click adventures I will try The Low road if I get the chance. ;)
If you’re a fan of point & click, you should definitely try it if you get the chance. I got it in a bundle and at the time there wasn’t very many reviews so I didn’t know what to expect but I was very pleasently surprised. It’s not very long especially if you don’t care to 100% so perfect for an evening:)
Dog: “Whee!!!!”
Cat: “WTH…crazy dog…”
We’ve also had no snow all winter. We’re not in a big snow area (Washington DC) but we always get some snow, and sometimes a big one. But this year nothing.
Yes weatherwise it’s been a really strange year here also constantly going from warm to freezing. We got barely any snow until February which was pretty disappointing my kids really wanted snow for Christmas… We got all the snow we usually get during winter last month!
I’m joining the “no snow this year” club as well. We used to have so much snow a decade ago… now we’re very lucky if the snow lasts more than 1 day.
I was on the fence about The Low Road, I saw a review of it before on BLAEO and that kinda put me off, but now I’m definitely adding it to my wishlist for sure.
I wish you good luck with your certificate and I hope you enjoy your March break :)
You’re right when I was a kid we use to have enormous amount of snow and it would start mid-November till the end of March but now we’re lucky if we get snow on Christmas day. A winter without snow doesn’t feel the same, it’s just cold. I have very fond memory of playing in the snow and making fort. But my kid’s are lucky if the snowman they make last more than a week without melting since the weather keep changing…
I played The Low Road a few months ago and it was pretty fun. :D I really enjoyed the story and the ideas in the story. I had fun but I couldn’t be bothered to go back to try to get all of the achievements because half of the time I felt like I was waiting for the animation to proceed even though I could skip the text at times. I got too impatient… 🥱 But a once through is definitely worthwhile for anyone looking for an interesting and fun Point & Click game.
Yeah I’ve got to admit that it’s not necessary a type of game that you’d want to play twice. I had made a couple different saves so I just went back to those to get the extra achievements I was missing. The animation is slow and while I thoroughly enjoyed it, I’m not sure I would’ve wanted to do a second complete playthrough. That’s kind of a common problem with point & click that require two playthrough for achievements. Once you play throught the story once, it’s not always fun to do it a second time unless it’s a story where your choices change the story…
Funny to hear that you had a lot of snow…over here we had almost none! :D
First of, great banner for The Low Road, it really catches the eye. The ingame graphic style looks interesting too.
Good luck with your additional certificate and hopefully you’ll find a lot of gaming time in your break!
Well to be fair, we had very little snow all winter but this February we basically got all the snow we usually get in one month. At the start of the month we got a big storm, about 50 cm of snow fell in one day!
The Low Road has very nice graphics, I love that style of colorful cartoonish art, it makes for great screenshots and it’s a very fun too.
