Yasss, only 2 months between posts this time. Still dealing with medical issues, so i’m kind of not only limited on gaming time, but i also don’t really have any interested in starting a new game and having to take a break midway through, like i started Death Stranding, got halfway through, took a break and now i have no will to play it again :( So the posts will be a bit slim, on a diet one could say, but i hope my silly reviews introduce some of you to some good games :)
Genuinely superb game for being free. It’s only 30 minutes long, but that 30 minutes is filled with charm, a cute artstyle, dark humour and great gameplay. Really worth trying!
NOTE: This will be purely a review for both DLCs, as i have beaten the main game on PS3.
TLAD:
Honestly, very mediocre DLC. The side activities are not much fun, and feel more like gruntwork. And the main story is just your typical betrayal and revenge story, with not really any spectacular or memorable missions. Decent, but would not go back to it.
6/10
TBoGT:
Now this is where the DLCs shine, TBoGT really feels like a last hurrah to GTA4, with a lot of new features, mission challenges (which incentivizes a replay) and some really great missions, especially that final one, putting a closure to one of the antagonists of GTA4’s story. Also, this DLC gets rid of the depression filter, and really makes GTA4 look younger than it is.
9/10
Short and sweet point and click adventure with superb art and enjoyable music. Not much to say, but for that price it’s definitely worth playing at least once :)
So, having never watched any of the Mad Max movies i can confidently say the Mad Max game was… perfectly fine, not amazing, not horrible, just plain fine. Mad Max is like fast food, it’s unlikely to be your favourite, but you’ll probably enjoy the time you spent with it. The story is fun, the world quite nicely detailed and the characters enjoyable. The side activities do start to grind you down after a while, but they are (mostly) optional so once you feel like you’re done, you can just finish out the story.
In short, worth buying on sale, and playing when you are bored and don’t know what else to play. It will give you a solid 20 hours of fun, and more if you love Ubisoft-like menial tasks to complete :)
Sticky Business is a perfect blend of “ahh, this is so cozy and relaxing” and “MOTHERFUCKER, PRINT THOSE STICKERS NOW” depending on the day and amount of customers. And i love it for that, it doesn’t go too far, instead it perfects it’s own simple formula of making stickers and selling them, and i think it does it well. Well worth the price, for a few hours of enjoyment for non-creative types like me, and probably many many more for those that actually want to play around and create interesting sticker designs.
After playing both LiS, and LiS BTS, it feels like the original game is a 5 star full meal at a restaurant, and BTS is a small piece of dessert served after it. It’s nice don’t get me wrong, but the story here doesn’t warrant buying the game without playing the original first, and feels like it would have been better served had it just been made a dlc for the original. Now it has some issues ofc, like the awful unnecessary plot twist in episode 3 in Rachel’s house, or the fact that there’s a bonus episode locked behind DLC in what already feels like DLC. But overall the story is a nice serving of bonus character lore for fans of the original, and for those who didn’t play the original… well… don’t play this, just play the original. Worth a buy at a discount.

I have yet to get to GTA4 DLC and them changing the game to all-encompassing Complete Edition messed up my plans to have individual DLC reviews. Max Payne I started, got good ten hours or so in only to just stop playing it for no real reason. I think it would’ve been better if the survival aspect was more demanding as refilling water is much too easy.
