So, since I got lucky and established a decent connection with an EA PR person, I found myself lucky to receive a review copy for the new FIFA (EA Sports FC now), 25. I didn’t play the last one, so most of the stuff here is new compared to 23. The gameplay is more of the same, yet also new, which is something I always admired about the franchise, it being able to keep that feeling present and allow me to ease into the new meta and stuff, without spending three months learning the ropes. The biggest change this year is the new Player Roles, which also impact how the tactic system is used, since the old one is scrapped. The UI is a bit strange, and takes some time to get used to, but overall, I love how it makes more impact on how the AI plays in game and how your team sets up.

Oh, and since this is a Screenshot Sunday #76 post, let me tell you this—THERE’S A PHOTO MODE!! Yes, FIFA 25 now has a photo mode… I love it! I managed to capture this cool shot with it. It’s a bit basic, but it’s still something I really never thought I would see in a game like this, bc why would someone other than me and a tiny minority of people care for using this? They also made a cool video editor, and it’s a shame this isn’t talked about, but instead the game is just shat on. Give the devs their flowers when they do something as cool as this, don’t just criticize them and the game.

I feel like that’s just an overall trend in media lately - we focus on the flaws, and don’t give credit when credit is due. Yes, it’s fine to call out flaws, especially when you’re paying for something, but we forget people do put time and energy into these games and sometimes, heart and soul. I’m really glad you’re enjoying it!! The editor sounds super cool!
