August’s Stats
aka. A lot of Monster Hunting, not so much backlog killing
Hello fellow assassins… It’s september first already, time is flying! I hope you all had a great summer (or winter for the south hemispherians) This month wasn’t really a success for me in the fight with the backlog, to say the least. Which is kind of weird to say considering I’ve put a lot more of hours in gaming this month than any previous month this year, or so I think. I’ve played 150h but most of them went in Monster Hunter World and Stardew Valley (coop mode), and barely finished anything. Plus the backlog has exploded with great games this month (I was weak and bought 2 games on their release day (Monster Hunter and Two Point Hospital) plus a few others from bundles, yet I haven’t tried most of them yet. SHAME.
What about you, was August productive? Did any of you got caught in Monster Hunter or any other game?

I had this game sitting in my backlog for years, as when I got it, it was incompatible with my previous PC build for some reason (as in, it wouldn't even start even though the PC was above the recommended configuration). Thankfully, it got picked for me for August's Pay or Play so I decided to give it another try, and it ran perfectly well on my current PC. It's a really nice post-apo action/adventure game, not an AAA but still very enjoyable and fun to play. I didn't like EVERYTHING about the story line, but as it's an action game I'm not too picky, and I liked the universe. Overall, it didn't age too bad (you see it's a bit dated, sure, but it still holds up) and it's worth picking if it's sitting in your backlog and you didn't give it a try yet.
The Darkside Detective

After I last posted about this game and how amazing I think it is, the game got updated with 2 more cases. One really short and one more of the average size of the previous ones. It was so nice to go back to it, I hope they add more or release a sequel. Still a strong recommendation.

I do believe we already shortly discussed this in my post, but I too put A LOT of hours into MHW this last month. I’ve slowed down on the hunting binge, but I don’t think I will be quite putting it down any time soon… Glad to see you were still able to make some progress in other games. :D
Enslaved has been in my backlog for sometime as well, and I really need to just take the time to play it. Thanks for your progress update! ^_^
P.S. Have you had a chance to try Two Point Hospital yet?
I was planning to play TPH this week end. I actually rage bought it on Thursday. And then. More monster hunting happened ALL WEEK END ;__; My backlog is doomed, I haven’t even finished the main story yet.

I played ENSLAVED a billion years ago, and despite it being a bit of an odd duck I do have really fond memories of it. I thought the level design was spectacular, and I wish we were able to explore more of the history of the setting rather the kinda… ehhh…. story we got.
… I had a ton of fun playing it, though. You know what? I think I might just pop that motherfucker in my wishlist to play again on here. Why not relive the memories? This one’s all you, EvilBlackSheep.
I’m glad the new cases in Darkside Detective are up to par! Madison got this for me a while ago and I haven’t dug into it yet. Soon, hopefully!
The level design/universe in ENSLAVED is really neat and holds up the test of time. The story is pretty generic and a bit… meh. But the overall experience is still really enjoyable, you should play it again :3
The Darkside Detective is really one of my favourite I’ve played this year so far, I found it to be crafted with a lot of care and details.
That’s really exciting to hear c: You also have excitement of your own on your plate - you have a bunch of great acquisitions added to your backlog!
So many things I really wanna play… YET I sunk the whole week end into MHW >___> I might have a problem.
