First August completed game: The Silent Age
PROTIP: double click to make Joe run instead of crawling walking
After learning that it revolves around time travel, and that it’s valid for the monthly theme, I decided to give this game a try.
It was kinda short, I completed it in 3 hours even taking my sweet time to explore anything, and the plot is full of overused cliches
(time paradoxes galore!), but overall it was quite an enjoyable experience, especially combined with the moody soundtrack.
It’s also got a few Easter eggs, related to general culture of the 2 represented timelines (the ’70s, and 2012), as well as a bit of humour.
A link to my spoiler-free screenshots, ‘cause I’m too lazy to make a proper template.
Text is in Italian ‘cause I prefer playing with my native language whenever it’s available, but I provided English translations for the international audience.
It’s a darned time machine, OK?! (It’s that thing in the lower-left corner) And, yes, those are blood stains
Yes, the game is very short and that’s with the inflation of crossing from one end of the map to the other several times in some scenes. Still a very nice game. :)
I’m glad you liked the game, it was short and not the most mind-blowing time travel plot ever but I thought overall it was good and worth the play.
It also gave me a few chuckles, with those Easter eggs!
Especially the Apple one that also unlocks an achievement.
I played this a while back on my iPhone, if it’s the exact same game then yeah it’s really short. The whole idea of switching time periods to solve puzzles was really cool and it was a nice little game
played this Game twice. On iphone and on steam. it’s a cool game.
They made a good job with this game. Although german is my native language I prefer to play the game in english, except the developer is from Germany. I don’t always like the translations. In case of humour the jokes don’t always work in another language.
Same applies to movies ;)
I didn’t think of that!
In fact, for some games (HOGs, for example), I don’t like playing in Italian because the text seems to come straight from Google Translator.
This time, though, I have to say it was really good, the dialogues are still English-only, and they perfectly matched with the text.
