Beaten Games Report
I’m not much of a person who writes a lot about games or reviews them, but nevertheless, this is my progress report for the last couple of months, had a blast playing them and now I’ve started Hades, that I bought in the last summer sale, because I couldn’t resist even though my backlog is already too big for me as it is. Just my luck that one day after I complete my third run of Nier: Automata they release a patch for it. Still have to get back to Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine dlcs, but needed a bit of a change of scenery. But on the other hand, I’ve been reading the Witcher novels and I can’t seem to put them down, so, I’m sure I’ll return to the game aswell sometime.
Ah, okay, thank you! I thought that completing the C ending is where it ends, I’ll get back to it. :-)
Almost missed it and I agree it’s worth it, thank you again!
Some people stop after the first “ending”, and while it pains me to see that it’s also unreasonable to casually tell them to go and double their playtime to see the rest of what the game has to offer. In your case you were just that close :P
(also, you can reply to other people’s posts directly using the arrow under their comment to let them know with a notification, I would have missed your reply if a friend hadn’t told me)
Yea, I’m really glad you told me.
I know about this option of direct replying but I wasn’t paying attention to it, because I was writing with my phone and didn’t see it didn’t reply to your post. Thank you. :-)
How are you finding the Witcher novels? I started reading them in 2016 since, at that time, I didn’t have a pc capable of playing 2 and 3. Nowadays, I’m yet to play the games but I’ve read the first four books and am planning to start reading the fifth book this month.
Sorry, didn’t check the site for a couple of days and didn’t see your question. I read the first two of the story (elder blood and time of contempt) and the last wish so I still have some reading to do. I liked Elder Blood more than Time of Contempt but I think that’s to be expected since it sets the story and is a start of something. I have Baptism of Fire on my shelf and am thinking of starting it soon and have to buy the rest.
So far I think that the novels are good in a way that I can get more invested or connected to specific characters than in the games. But at the same time I still think that in games they managed to do that aswell but a different platform still gives something else. I mean I love The Wild Hunt but with the first game the atmosphere was a bit more dark? Or a bit more Slavic with that. But I’m sure where the books fall on that, I think they are somewhere between those two games, still dark but because there is much more information that you can gather the whole experience is wider, bigger and that’s probably why I like the books and decided to read them. I don’t know really. What do you think of them?
I couldn’t agree more. Each platform has its pros and cons, and although I haven’t played any game of the franchise, I’m very much enjoying the books. Since then I’ve read the fifth book (Baptism of Fire) and its narrative was written in a way that left me wanting more, and I think that’s why I’ll still probably read the next one in this year, aiming to finish the whole collection in 2022 and finally starting the games (or watching a playthrough for the first one and play through 2).
I also enjoyed the first season of the tv show and seeing the books come alive has a rather pleasant feeling. Comparing it to the books they’re very close, but probably because only barely the first two books were adapted, and I cannot wait to see the second season in December.
Now I am the one who’s sorry. I haven’t been playing anything at all on steam so I haven’t been checking the site.
Random heartfelt advice: go back to Nier. From where you stopped you probably only have an hour or two left to get the full experience and it’s really, really worth it.
