I FINALLY BEAT DARK SOULS
It took me a month and a half, 73 hours and probably a couple thousand deaths but I did it! I finally did it.. And now I’m aching for more!
I’d had this game recommended to me a bajillion times before I finally picked it up and my only regret is not playing it sooner. It’s probably the most intricately designed world I’ve ever seen in a video game. Every line of dialogue, every item description and even just the design of certain enemies or areas has lore implications. As far as gameplay is concerned, I was scared it would be too hard or too grindy (I did do my fair share of grinding but that’s just because I sucked at the beginning - and now I’m shredding Lord Gwyn to pieces with my mad parrying skills) but I found myself really enjoying the gameplay loop. The game really pushes you to pay attention to your surroundings and learn for each run (until you die by falling off a freaking cliff…).
Anyways, I’ve already talked about Dark Souls a bit in my previous update but I just wanted to share my prowess with you guys! Time to move on to different things now. Probably Dark Soul II! Or maybe NG+?
Git Gud, BLAEO
My friend has been trying to strong-arm me into playing Bloodbourne, to the extent where he said he’ll sit with me so I can ask him for tips until I get comfortable with it. I’m hesitant, though - I don’t play games to get #stressed.
I’m glad you really enjoyed it!
I wish I had a PS4, Bloodborne looks mental. My love for Bloodborne (I watched a bunch of playthroughs) is actually what made me start Dark Souls! And it’s definitely got some really stressful boss fights (I literally started hating the game when I got to Ornstein and Smough) but other than those it’s fine as long as you take it slow. The start was pretty rough though, it takes some time to really understand how everything works since they barely tell you anything lol
Congratulations! I was also late to the party and only played Dark Souls last year for the first time, on my Xbox 360. I thought it couldn’t possibly live up to all the hype but boy, was I wrong! I loved everything about it and the progression felt almost perfect.
Played a little of Dark Souls 2 but I kept going back to the first game. Should probably really play it someday :)
I was curious and arrived here randomly and I just have to say-
please please play salt and sanctuary its so good >_<
even better if you can find someone to play it with but as a standalone game it still stands.
Heh thanks for the rec! It’s definitely on my list of games to play next, I’ve been itching for a good souls-like! Is there actual co-op in this one? Or is it like the souls series? I’ll probably end up playing on my own anyway
I hope you enjoy the games I picked for you btw!
Its local co-op in that you can make a new character and than have the first player hire them as a sellsword…
and then its basically co-op except one player can’t do certain mission related stuff/progress story.
either way its a souls like and the only game I can say pulled off the “2d dark souls” tag well…other games seem to pull the wrong parts from darks souls and say “as hard as dark souls” while not having any of the charm…but salt and sanctuary has a nice lore and sprawling map and idk its nice.
thank you!
my only problem is wanting to play everything and wondering if I’ll have enough time to finish em all.
Congrats :)
Thanks! Definitely one of my proudest gaming achievements! :p
