September's Theme: Serial Killer
Last month we were off around the world hunting down screenshots from everything and everywhere! (Thank you for hosting the Theme, Daerphen!)
This month, my dear Assassins, we’ll let the killers loose in us! Nooooo, now you think we’ll all be out playing killer games? Sorry to disappoint you. We’re out to kill some Serial! I’m pretty sure every one of us has some kind of games series flying around. I mean, they are practically hiding everywhere! I could start with A (Assassin’s Creed) and go to Z (Zeno Clash) and find series all around!

Yes, I’m giving you some rules. Not to many, but some it’ll be. If you have any trouble with them, do tell me and we’ll try working it out!
- Only games out of game series count! You don’t need to play the whole series though. One game is enough. If you want to play the whole thing, you’re welcome to do it though :)
- List the games you played in the Submission Post, so I can keep track of your awesome killing (links would be appreciated, but are not necessary)

Do I have to participate in this month’s theme?
No, as with every theme, these are merely suggestions for anyone who is unsure about what to play next. If you already have a battle plan for your backlog and/or don’t like this month’s theme, you’re free to ignore it.
What happens if I don’t participate in the monthly theme?
Nothing.
What happens if I play all the games from the theme list this month?
You’ll probably go mad.
I don’t own any of the games from the game list, how can I still participate?
The game list is most definitely incomplete. If you own or know of any other games that might fit this month’s theme, feel free to suggest them under the corresponding post.
I already played all the games I own from the theme list, should I play something again to participate? If it was an awesome game and you’d like to replay it, sure, go ahead. Only replaying it for the theme won’t help you with your backlog though, so if that would be your only reason you should probably think about trying something else instead.
Imma cheat and use the next entry on my ABC plan :P

One is totally fine. But ofc you can also play the whole series. It just has to be part of a series ;)

Yeah, I noticed that as well, dunno why though. We suspect it has something to do with the server location… dunno. If it’s not getting better til tomorrow, I’ll start screaming for help ;)
Great idea, I’m gonna have to see what I’ll pick in there but that will be the perfect occasion to play those 4 midnight mysteries games I won on SG yesterday!!

Oh, if you’ve played the series, what do you think about the second one, the Salem Witch Trial one? It’s the only one of the series I haven’t activated (I didn’t win it but have a key for it) but I’m hesitant as the reviews for it are mixed and a lot of the negative feedback says it’s very bugged. I’d love your opinion on it if you’ve played it.

I know I had to go at least once back for collectibles though. Hated that. But otherwise I think it was ok :)
I might end up activating it so I play the whole series. My main concern was people saying the cheevos wouldn’t unlock on steam, but if you have them all it must be doable. Thanks )

I think I got bamboozled
This theme is how I go about my backlog normally. I only just swept the first classic Serious Sam game at the end of last month, so I’ll strive to finish the entire mostly entire Serious Sam serious (classic, HD, revolution and main games. No VR based or beta focused installments) within the month. I look forward to participating this month ^_^

Happy to join in this theme, it always bothers me if I have played one game in a series that I own and then have abandoned the rest. D: I can already think of at least 3 games that I could play from different series that I haven’t completed, but I’ll start out with one and move on to next if I have time :)
P.S. Hands down one of the coolest theme titles yet!

By the way, are games without achievements okay for you? I’m planning to pick Max Payne 2, no achievements but I could snap screenshots from the ending/credits as proof. As long as I’ll remember to do that. :)
If you want to, you’re welcome to do it, but I decided to go with trust for this one. So if there is no proof and you say you did it, I’ll believe you :)

Do Limbo & Inside count as a series? ^^
I have no idea! But as far as Dr. Googled tried to help, the one works with the things from the other, so I am willing to say yes!
I noticed yesterday that I started playing a game from a series: Momodora: Reverie under the Moonlight. So I can take part in the monthly event with that. And if I feel motivated I may do The Walking Dead Season 2 as well later this month (after finally replaying part 1).
Out of curiousity (to know how far the system is stretchable ^^). Do games with Standalone DLC’s count as well for this event. For example: Giana Sisters - Rise of the Owlverlord, DredOut - Keepers of the Dark, Shovel Knight - Specter of Torment (especially interesting as you can have all DLC’s in one game as well). And what about games which only have one part on Steam like Gal*Gun: Double Peace. And games we played through before but they added achievements later like Amnesia?

Ok, so this one is difficult. Though it obviously offers more playtime to a game, it’s still just one game, right? It’s not like it’s a new game, because then it wouldn’t be a DLC but…. a new game. So…. though I really hate to say it, I don’t feel comfortable to accept DLCs drop

Nah, I’m not mad just utterly disappointed :P Everything’s fine. The DLC answer makes sense although I asked for the standalone which are playable without having the main game. Well, I don’t have any games in question anyway so it doesn’t matter. For Gal*Gun I’m sure that there is at least one other game but only available in Japan (?). Now to figure out this table thingy so I can make an official submission post.
