It's been a while :)

It’s been more then a year since my last post, i always wanted to post something but procrastinator in me had better things to do :D And then day or two ago i saw some nice stats of mine and though to share them ^_^

Unfortunatly i don’t have old stats to compare, but i have been playing some games over the year. Even entered “challenge me” two times, one time i did good and the other was failure :D I guess i could probably ramble about all the games i played, but that would make huge wall of text and i am too lazy to format it, so i will just c/p list of the played games :D If you are interested in my opinion about any of the games feel free to ask about them :)

April was a slow gaming month, i started Banner Saga and Doorkickers, which i didn't finish. Banner saga was cool, graphics was great, story was interesting, but what i didn't like was switching between groups each act. Just as i get used to playing with one team and each member skills i end that act, so i have to get used to other characters before getting back to the first ones...
On the other hand i got Doorkickers for 0.01$ price bug on HB widget. It is fun and interesting game, but little too grindy. Cool to play with friend in co-op :D

May had great monthly theme, which i liked :D And because of it i sorted most of the games i got for free on separate free list. It is not 100% accurate, since there are plenty of games missing, but when i remember each game i got for free will add it there. It is nice to sort backlog, makes you more interested in what you have laying there :)
I started monthly theme with Sam&Max Season 1, wanted to play second one as well since both are SG wins. But along the way figured it is way to much Sam&Max in small period of time, since games kind of repeat itself. Go to Bosco and buy something weird for a lot of money you got in crazy situations, talk with Sybil to help you with various papers etc. They were fun games, used to play them when they got out so memory helped playing them a little. But i guess i will take a break until playing Season 2.
Back to Bed was a free game on steam some time ago, it is fun and weird puzzle game which i liked very much :D
Risk of Rain while my achievements not showing beaten i did finish it, since there were some steam bugs and i had to restart whole progress. Played it with a friend in co-op, it was fun and i plan on playing it some more :)
Zombie Shooter was SG win as well, used to play it long ago when it got out with other SigmaTeam's shooter games. It is short and and easy to relax too, since no thinking is needed :D just shooting ^_^
The Hidden Dragon is also SG win, and easy and short HOG for kids :)
Mushroom Wars PA win. Cool strategy game, played some games of that type long ago so it was fun playing something like that again. It is very grindy for achievements, but i might try get some more :)

June just started and i just beat one game, so nice progress so far :D Also new monthly theme made me sort some of the games by source of acquisition. Bought, bundle and HB monthly lists made, last two separated on purpose :D
Ziggurat SG win, also part of ABC list which i am going really slow with :D Game has random generated levels, so it makes it a lot of luck based FPS. If you are not lucky enough you will have problems finishing first level, if you are lucky enough you might beat the game on first playthough :D But shooting stuff around is fun, so will get back to it from time to time :)

It’s been a little more than a month since last post. Beaten only one game in meantime, but played several. Was planning on writing this last week but got lazy :)

Most of time spent on Counter-strike as always, played some AoE2HD and Worms with friends online. Great way to spend time after long day at work :)
One day i was in the mood to play something new and Domina looked like great game for that. And it was, managed to beat it in few days, would have been one night but had to work and i started playing it late. You manage your ludus and train gladiators for one whole year in story mode. Story itself is nothing special and there is a lot of RNG involved but it was fun when you don’t lose your best gladiator :D Graphics is cool, liked sound and music too :) And i would recommend game to others, if they like management games :D Will have to check other achievements too, if they are not too grindy.
Got back a little to Banished after talking about city builder games on one facebook group. This time i disabled all the mods, so i get a chance to get some achievements if i manage too ^_^
I won Cogs on some giveaway site i no longer use and don’t remember which one :D It is part of my ABC list, so that is a plus. It is fun 3D puzzle game with plenty of levels. Some of the levels are straight forward, while some need a lot of thinking. I guess it will take me a while to beat it, let alone finish, but i still enjoy playing it.
Still playing Mini Metro, but less then before. It is simple and great game at same time, still part of HB 1$ tier so i suggest everyone tries it out if they are into this type of games :D
And friend convinced me to try Action Henk, cool racing platformer. Only problem so far is that there is occasional FPS drop and if it happens in the middle of the race you lose it. So i guess i will have to find fix for that :)

On the side note. I know i haven’t been that much active here, but i read all your posts and comments on work launch break. So thanks for sharing ^_^

1 year on BLAEO :)

So yesterday was my BLAEO cakeday and as per SG cakeday rules you need to make some GAs little “thank you” for getting me to play all those games ^_^

And yesterday i beat one great game :D

First of all i love this game, it is great on so many levels. Great gameplay, great music, great story(only wish it was bit longer). Looking forward to replaying it and playing NG+ too. Too many possible weapon combinations to try and each great on it’s own way. Mostly used machete(switched to pike later) and musket, it was perfect combo for me… Sometimes it took me little longer to kill big enemies but that helped me improve with moving. Need to finish all those “Who Knows Where” levels too, nice way of learning about characters. And i must say i suck at challenges, but will try my luck there too. :)

As for Supergiant’s games i am looking forward to getting and playing both Transistor and Pyre one day and i heard they are even better :D

Some stats

I am too lazy to write some more detailed stats about my progress etc, but i guess this will do :)

My progress back then

83% never played
10% unfinished
2% beaten
6% completed

SteamGifts wins

78% never played
12% unfinished
10% completed

My progress now :)

76% never played
7% unfinished
7% beaten
10% completed

SteamGifts wins

54% never played
13% unfinished
16% beaten
17% completed

So two more games beaten since last post :) It is going slowly but every game beaten means less left to kill i guess :D On the other hand i noticed i got 1000 games, so that means only 763 unplayed games left ^_^

Magicka is a great game. I started playing it in 30 January 2013 and it was beaten on 11 February 2018. So little more then 5 years. The main reason i got back to play it was a friend who wanted to play something coop and it looked like it could be fun together. And it was a blast… Humor is great, helping (or not) or killing a teammate is really cool. Many times we killed each other for revenge, but still made it to the end. Since i have all the DLCs we will be getting back to it eventually and we even got magicka 2 on HB tier 1 bundle :D So lets hope it doesn’t take me 5 more years ^_^

Mini Metro This game i bought for my birthday few weeks ago, it has been on my wishlist for ages (one of the rare games i tried pirated version first when it got out) and i am glad i got it. I did beat all the levels and it will take a while to get it to 100% but i guess it will be fun. :) Also i like that i can play it for 5 minutes per game, so great for taking a break :D

It has been 2 months since my last post and i haven’t been that active here lately, some family trouble, new years eve, going on a trip to Switzerland for few days and then started working. But in all that time i played some games, got stuck at some, figured i suck at playing others, but i managed to beat/complete few of them. So lets just mention those that i finished :D

SQUAKE (SGwin) is a fun little snake multiplayer game, but if there are no players online you get to play with bots which is also fun. So i have been playing it for some time and finally got it to 100% :D

Steampunk Syndicate (Another SGwin but from Playing Appreciated) is interesting tower defense game. I liked the concept of getting cards to upgrade your towers and units, but if RNG is not on your side you have to grind a lot for them to upgrade. And some of the later levels are really difficult with weak and low level towers. Also to upgrade your cards you need to combine cards of the same level, which is fine concept, but then you need to drag every singe of those cards to upgrade slot. I already forgot if max level was 9 or 10, but whatever the number you needed a lot of clicking to upgrade you cards using lvl 1-3 cards you usually get as a drop… But if there was no grinding it would be a great game :)

Bridge Constructor (Also SGwin from PA) is fun constructor game. I have already completed Bridge Constructor Medieval, so this one is not anything harder but has more content. So it might take a while to get it to 100%, but i have already finished base island :D

Day of the Tentacle Remastered (Also SGwin from PA) I never finished original game back in the day, so winning this felt great. Playing it got some of the memories back, but i forgot way to much of it. So it was fun playing it, humor was great, but i guess there is no way i would go for 100% :D

To the Moon (ABC list) This is one weird game for me. First of all i had graphical problems with it, on full screen there were some weird lines so i had to play it windowed on some pretty small screen. So getting fully into the game was harder for me. Even though i heard this is one of the greatest stories told in game i didn’t feel that way, in my opinion it was a fine story and something nice for a change. Also i didn’t like the ending that much, the way things happened and it felt rushed … but oh well… I liked the songs “For River” and “Everything’s Alright”, so will keep on listening them :)

Hero of the Kingdom I was challenged to play this game. And i loved playing it the same day. Figuring things out was fun, searching for all the things around too. It was relaxing to play and i just wanted to 100% it :D

Hero of the Kingdom II I liked the first part so much that next day i played and completed second :D First one had better story, but sequel had some better mechanics. You can go into the caves and sewers, in some places you could progress in two different ways so it is up to you to chose, there were no leveled skill which was ok for me, also those collectible achievements had several more items in world so you didn’t have to find every single one

Kraven Manor I liked this game very much, with good headphones it was very spooky :D but unfortunately game crashed at one of the checkpoints and i couldn't fix it. While searching for solution i figured the problem was with my system, so i will go back to in one day once i get it to work :)

Rollers of the Realm It was an SG win. Interesting combination of pinball and RPG. Story was nice, but didn't bother with arcade modes.

Orwell One of the HB Monthly games(it's been a while since i activated some of them to play). I liked the story, like the UI, graphics, but i didn't want to spoil anything so i never checked what achievements are left. So for now only one playthough, not sure if i want to play same story more to find other endings.

Abrix for kids Started playing this game long ago and one day my seven year old cousin wanted to play some easy/simple puzzle game and he chose this one. I didn't like the game, but i guess it was fun playing it with him :)

Steampunk Syndicate Won this one as part of PA group. Interesting tower defense, but somehow i got stuck at the middle(i guess) and never bothered to play it again :/

Epistory - Typing Chronicles SG win. Great game, interesting story, nice design. Way to many words to type i never heard of :D

Plague Inc: Evolved I played this game on my mobile long ago, but won it recently on SG. Marked as beaten as i managed to kill everyone few time, will get back to it from time to time :)

The Frostrune If i remember correctly this game was free one day. It is nice game, love the graphics and i enjoyed watching all those images. Didn't like walking around, would have been better if there was some map to skip places.

Neon Chrome SG win. Stared playing it around a week ago. Interesting game, but difficult(at least for me). Managed to beat only one boss so far, but i will keep trying.

Worms Armageddon Played this one when i was kid, when it got released. It was for sale on steam and some of my friends got it to, so now we are having fun all toghether playing MP :D

This War of Mine I talked about this one in my last post. The reason i mention it again is the DLC. I got Season Pass for their Stories DLCs. Liked the first one, even though it is linear compared to the game itself. Ending was a little rushed and i wish there were several endings. Looking forward to playing next two Stories :)

Jet Racing Extreme Looks like a fun game with cool ingame crashing mechanics, but it crashes for me so i couldn't play it. I guess i will give it a try again once i get better PC :)

Ubinota Cool, short puzzle game. I liked the game, story, level design. I didn't like that things move randomly, so same solution sometimes works and sometimes not.

Freedom Fall Short and cool action platformer. Liked all the messages written on the wall, even though they said i was a cheater :D

Since i joined BLAEO i figured one thing and it took me a while to accept it. I suck at challenges. My ABC challenge is at 4/27, last "Challenge me" i participated in i finished 1/5 games. And that sucks... So i decided not to join new "Challenge me" until i finish at least 80% of the one i got challenged so far, that means that i will have at least to play 4/5 games from each challenge. Who knows how long will that take me since lately i only play games depending on my mood, and my mood changes a lot.

But i guess i found a way to fight my backlog and will keep on trying that way :D I used Random Steam Game Picker and if i feel like playing the game it chooses, i download it(fast internet helps :D) and play it the same day. I skipped plenty of games that way too, but so far i found 3 cool games i didn't know about in my library(Jet Racing Extreme, Ubinota, Freedom Fall) and enjoyed playing them. How will that work on larger and longer games i have no idea, but even if i don't finish them i will get to try them and maybe put them on some other list :D Also wish there was something similar on BLAEO to chose games randomly from lists ^_^

Wanted to write something more but i forgot. Oh well, some other time i guess :D

I had this game for a while, but just got recently to play it.
Well there was an update yesterday with new DLC “Stories - Father’s Promise” and there will be two new stories in 2018, so here is a Season Pass GA for the lovely community. I have read here on BLAEO many posts about this game and plenty of you enjoyed it, so i hope you like Stories as well :)

I really liked the game that i will even buy Season Pass for myself and i have never done that before :D I managed to beat it on 2nd playthough, played several days on 1st one to figure out the game mechanics since i didn’t want to use various guides to spoil the game. Once i figured it out it was easier to play, at the end i had enough food for 30 more days :D It would last even more if i fed them once every two days :D
While i enjoyed gameplay and atmosphere there were some things i didn’t like. Emilia was my 4th survivor that joined later in a game, she was useless, she was injured all the time for no reason at all. When she showed up she was injured, i healed her and tomorrow everything was ok, then the night after even without a raid she was injured again, and again, and again… Wasted too many medical resources on her, but luckily noone else needed them… Also killing some guys that attacked me first without warning made most of my team depressed… I know killing is bad, even in war, but sometimes selfdefense wasn’t enough for my people as a reason, while sometimes it was perfectly fine for them to kill…
Anyway even with those things i didn’t like i will keep playing this game from time to time, there are plenty of unplayed characters left(got 4 out of 12 so far). And even without the new Stories i would be getting back to playing it. And plenty of achievements that i have no idea what are they for, so lets hope they unlock by themself ^_^

Not game related

I know i haven’t been active with posts here lately, but i have been reading yours mostly from my phone(and it is difficult to reply there :D). I hope to change that soon, since there are several games beaten since my last post and they deserve update as well :)
And once again there is a Season Pass GA :D

Two more games of ABC challange done :) Current progress 4/27 :D

Great game. Loved playing it. It is great puzzle platformer game with no text, no dialogs and nothing explained what is happening, but with great sound, design and atmosphere. While moving though this black and white world you occasionally collect some eggs, not sure why apart from getting achievements and unlocking secret level, and i found all but one on first playthough. Secret level was cool, relaying on sound only in some occasions was though but interesting. Dying in this game is normal thing, died many times just for fun to see how it would look :D And one thing i am sure about is that i won’t be getting 100% since there is no way to force myself to play this game with less than 5 deaths :)

Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna)

Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna)

Another interesting puzzle platformer, but … This game is beautiful, design is lovely, story is great, learning about Iñupiat culture and lore is interesting, watching all those insight videos is cool and playing first level is amazing, but unfortunately after that it gets frustrating. Controls can be unresponsive, getting stuck and falling though spirits is a common thing, moving spirits around and flying/swimming is clunky… You control little girl Nuna and her white fox, you switch between them to pass various puzzles and it can be played in co-op. As you are playing as one character AI fallows you as second and while that sometimes works great, a lot of times it doesn’t… AI occasionally misses some basic jumps or is getting stuck. Dying is not fun as in LIMBO, since each time you have to wait for camera to move to other character and show them crying, and you die a lot not by your mistake.

Belated September report :)

Month started great, was playing some cool games, plenty of SG wins for various events :)
6 games for SG’s “play a game you won”, 4 for “Serial killer”, 2 for “Challange Me” and 1 for “ABC list”. Looks like a lot of games, but many overlap ^_^

Sword of Asumi Got challenged by nin to play it for aug/sept event, even challenged her to play it for sept/oct :) Cool VN, even though i am not into that genre. Liked that my decisions mattered in the end, so i was happy with my ending :D Didn’t hunt 100% since i want to replay it some day, to get to other ending without guides :)

Midnight Mysteries: The Edgar Allan Poe Conspiracy Played it for SG’s “Play SG win” and “Serial Killer” events. Interesting HOG game, story was cool but i had problems with resolution so i had to play it in small windowed mode on 22” monitor

Midnight Mysteries: Salem Witch Trials Second game in Midnight Mysteries series, won 5 of them so will be playing others as well :D Played it for SG’s “Play SG win” and “Serial Killer” events. It was also cool HOG game, but i liked first one more. I had bug with achievements so i got none, apparently there is some beta version where they work but i found out in the end xD

Always Sometimes Monsters Got challenged by nin to play it for aug/sept event. Cool RPGMaker game, liked the story, funny dialog that made me lough, didn’t like cash grinding that needed to be done. They even announced sequel Sometimes Always Monsters :D

Samantha Swift and the Hidden Roses of Athena HOG game i wanted to play it for SG’s “Play SG win” and “Serial Killer” events, but encountered a nasty bug at the end of the game. There is a limit of things you can carry and i couldn’t pick item since i had full inventory but the item disappeared, and there was no way to reload save or get that item in any other way :/

Mythic Wonders: The Philosopher’s Stone Another HOG game. Played it for SG’s “Play SG win”. It was interesting and not hard to 100% :)

Death to Spies Played it for SG’s “Play SG win”, “Serial Killer” and “ABC list”. Triple kill ^_^ It is stealth game set in WW2, you play as Russian spy and your job is to complete missions against Germans. There are various types of missions, like infiltrating military base and prison camp, freeing some prisoners, destroying the bridge(hated that mission), dressing up as scientist and playing as civilian in hotel and embassy. All in all fun game, won sequel on SG as well so looking forward to playing it :)

Hexcells Infinite and The Silent Age were mentioned in my last post…

So while playing all these games i barely touched Counter-Strike which was good change :). But later i got busy finally finishing my Master Thesis and Counter-Strike was my brainless rest, something i could turn to for short break when needed and played it for 90 hours xD
In the end i got my degree after many years ^_^ and after few days of celebrating i didn’t know what to do so i started with my report :D I guess i should write CV and start looking for a real job sometime soon. :) Still need to finish with all the documents on faculty though, but that won’t be much of a problem i guess.
