Don’t remember much about this one other than that I liked it. Will replay the first two games before the third comes out (if it does).
Hexcells
A lovely puzzle game that’s very reminiscent of minesweeper. It takes minesweeper and builds upon it by adding some extra elements and rules (for example, some levels will have a number that represents the number of “bombs” (here it’s referred to as revealing a pattern instead of mines) or instead of just a number on the space you click showing the surrounding number of bombs, it’ll use dashes around the number to indicate whether those bombs are all connected (on consecutive spaces) or not. These are among many other new rules) with the later levels combining many of them to create more difficult and complex puzzles. And because all the levels are designed rather than randomly generated like in minesweeper, you never have to guess. Would definitely recommend this for anyone who’s played minesweeper or even anyone who just likes puzzles. After I beat it I resisted the urge to immediately play the next two games in the series so I could enjoy them another time.
Never Alone
I think I talked about this one before when I beat it. It’s an ok game for the first playthrough but gets boring when you have to replay levels to get the collectibles (owls) that you missed. I also started to notice more bugs, none of which I think were game-breaking but were definitely annoying. One thing I really liked was the cultural insight video you unlocked for each collectible. I plan to go back and watch all of them and recommend the same for anyone who’s played this and hasn’t given much attention to them.
The Deed
Pretty decent game that I enjoyed. Just gets a bit grindy to get all the achievements.
The Walking Dead: Michonne
I’m not too sure why some people hate on this game other than that it’s a miniseries (no Celementine) and that choices don’t matter as much as some would like (nothing new, it’s telltale). I enjoyed the story to an extent. I like that you can actually notice the difference in strength between Michonne and the other Walking Dead protagonists from the other games as you can cut down both living and dead more easily. As a result, and knowing that I was playing a miniseries where the choices that did matter wouldn’t carry on or have any consequences beyond this game, I definitely wasn’t tactful with my decisions and tended to choose the more violent route which was fun in its own regards. I recommend to play this if you own it as it’s an easy game to get out of your backlog (my time is a bit exaggerated as I left the game running while afk). I definitely recommend it to people who love the Walking Dead universe.

OneShot
I think this may be my most favorite game from the games I’ve beaten on Steam. Going to craft a badge, feature it on my profile and use the background. Will go into actual details about the game after I 100% it.
It’s been a while but I’m back.

Batman - The Telltale Series
A decent Telltale entry. If you enjoy the newer Telltale games and like Batman, you’ll probably enjoy this. You also play as Bruce Wayne which was interesting and different from any other batman game I know. A bit heavier on quick-time events. And I liked that you get to romance catwoman (not sure whether this is really a spoiler).
The Walking Dead: A New Frontier
It wasn’t that bad although maybe not as good as the first two. Not that many likable characters with most of the older ones now dead. As usual, choices don’t really matter. Will still play the final game for Clem.
To The Moon
Really loved this game and recommend it to anyone who has it sitting in their backlog (most of you). It’s not that long with a really good story. I was surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did and it might be one of my favorite games. Playing Rakuen now and looking forward to the sequal.
fault - milestone one
Really liked this one as well and it’s my first completed visual novel. Recommend it to interested in trying visual novels. Looking forward to the second game and am also now looking for any visual novel recommendations.

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition
A great GTA-style game involving Chinese Triads and American police. Fun gameplay with combat being centered around martial-arts hand-to-hand combat. Also had a fairly decent story. Would love a sequel as I don’t think there are many games like this. Still have a lot to finish in the world.
Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna)
Moderately enjoyable platforming game. It was ok the first play-through but got bored going back and getting the missed collectibles (owls). Plan to 100% it soon. Experienced some minor bugs but nothing game-breaking.
This post’ll be very brief as I have to get back to work. I haven’t posted anything in a long time and probably won’t be posting much anytime in the near future.
Spent much of August playing this as I only recently got it. Don’t remember the last time I’ve experienced this much excitement playing anything (or this much stress). I don’t really play much shooters so I’m not that great and don’t have too many wins. The thing that’s amazing though is the adrenaline rush you get when you’re one of the last players/teams alive and know that you’re very close to victory. From all the games I play this is also the easiest one to make steam wallet with selling the items, allowing you to buy more games (you’ll never play). If I do have any time to play anything, it’ll probably be spent playing this.

Nekopara
meh. Don’t really see the appeal here. Took around 20-25 minutes so an easy completion.
SOMA
I actually found the game kinda boring at the beginning, but once I stopped focusing on trying to finish the game and more on actually playing the game and immersing myself in the story, I really really enjoyed it. The big thing about this game is of course its story. Not much to say about gameplay other than that it involves mostly walking/running, some stealth (I wouldn’t really call it stealth as your just hiding from the monsters and waiting for them to go away) and a few simple puzzles. Decent graphics. And of course there’s the horror which is done pretty nicely. Great game overall that focuses on its story and horror elements.

ABZU
This game is probably one of the most beautiful I’ve ever played, and for the first few hours I was definitely immersed with how visually stunning it was. As time went on, however, it became more of a chore to finish the game because of the lack of a well-defined plot or greater purpose. Might 100% sometime in the future.
LIMBO
Fun puzzle game. Definitely challenging and it makes me proud to say that I finished the game without using any guides. Not gonna 100% anytime soon as there’s
I'm afraid that's all I've beaten this last month. In my own defense, most of my time I spent playing Terraria, as per the monthly theme. There are a lot of games, however, that I've played this past month and just haven't beaten.

Terraria
I regret having had this backlogged for so long (dates all the way back from pre-SG days). The main issue I had when I first tried the game was simply that I had no idea of what I was supposed to do. Thanks to Adam and a few guides detailing the progression system in Terraria, I was immediately immersed and really enjoyed the game. Will hopefully spend a lot more time with this wonderful gem.
Fallout 4
As you can see I barely played an hour of the game but it only took me a few minutes to realize that this is just Skyrim with guns.
Clustertruck
Wasn’t too sure about this when I won it as it wasn’t on my wishlist. After I started playing a bit of it, I was kind of confused as to what the game was about. Played some more and it wasn’t until later on, around the end of the second world that I realized I was addicted. Amazing game, definitely don’t regret winning it.Still have no idea what it’s about.
The Evil Within
Before I started playing this, I already kind of had an idea on what to expect from watching reviews: bad story, decent gameplay. A bit too early to comment on the story but the character development is definitely lacking (sees dozens of dead bodies, supernatural occurrences, the city falling apart and going to shit, gets chased by a guy with a chain saw and fights a bunch of zombies. Main character’s reaction? Just another day on the job as a detective). The gameplay however is really good and I must say, I’ve enjoyed playing the game so far. Especially the stealth which I think is fairly well done. Looking forward to playing more of this.
Plague Inc: Evolved
Very fun game. It makes me shudder with pleasure each time I successfully wipe out the world’s population. Only thing that I think would make this game more interesting is if it had real-time images of the impact your disease is having on different parts of the world, as well as up-close images of the people you’re killing and the symptoms of your disease for that added emotional impact. But if this were to be implemented I guess this game wouldn’t get as many players. Very enjoyable game and here’s to wiping out the human population many more times!
As always, feel free to ask away if you have any questions about any of the games I've played this month.
Looking for folks to play Trouble in The Manor with. It’s been given away in one of those mass giveaways on SG a while back (unfortunately back when I still used to enter those) so quite a few of you probably already have it. It’s a multiplayer-only game which makes it difficult to play, but the game itself is not bad. This’d be a good opportunity to check it off from your list of wins (with the current theme being multiplayer). The game supports up to 10 players. So far there’s me and Last.M so ideally we’re looking for another 8 people but half of that will work as well. Having more people just makes it easier to quickly get all its achievements. Time’s flexible, especially during weekends. Feel free to add me if you’re interested.
Games Beaten Since Last Update:
There aren't any games that I've completed since my last update unfortunately.
Dishonored
This is a game that I can say I enjoyed fairly well. Don't know why I've had it in my backlog for so long. The beginning is a bit slow story-wise but after a certain point in the game, the plot does get a lot more interesting. Gameplay is very diverse with a wide arsenal at your disposal (of both weapons and powers), allowing you to tackle the same situation in many different ways. Looking forward to picking this up again sometime in the future and doing a full-stealth playthrough on one of the harder difficulties (for achievements).
Mortal Kombat X
This one took me quite a while to beat (started it sometime around the beginning of the year) despite it's short length. Around midway through I thought it'd help me finish the game faster if I skipped all the cutscenes, but that just made the game more tiresome to finish. A decent pick if you're into fighters.
The Deed
The Deed was definitely a surprise as I actually enjoyed it. The idea of the game is that you're supposed to murder your sister and get away with it by framing someone else in order to secure the family inheritance for yourself. You do this by using one of various potential murder weapons that you can find around the house, ranging from a pool cue to rat poison to a kitchen knife. You also pick up one other item from around the house that you can use as evidence in order to frame one of your family members (or even one of the workers). You can only hold a max of two items. It actually took me a few tries before I beat the game (entire game is 15-20 minutes long) as you're the default suspect if your evidence isn't convincing. It does become a bit of a grind to 100% the game as it's the same thing over and over again except using different murder weapons and framing different people. Nonetheless, I should be able to complete the game in a bit of time. Definitely recommend this game if it's sitting in your library and has been dismissed as yet another bad indie game. Will probably pick up the sequel sometime soon.
Layers of Fear
Got this game for free as a review copy. You can see my full review for the game [here](http://steamcommunity.com/id/barbaricgenie/recommended/391720). I must admit however that I'm not very good with reviews so if you're really good with reviews, I'd appreciate any suggestions you may have for me. Was a pretty decent game, and I'm looking forward to trying the dlc sometime soon.
Games I'm Playing Right Now:
Dishonored 2 I have to finish within a month of having won it, Nier is for another group event and the Witness I included because it's my latest win. I may also partake in this month's multiplayer event after finishing Nier as I've been wanting to play the Borderlands games with someone for quite a while.
And as always, if you have any questions about any of the game I've finished or even the games I'm currently playing, I'd be more than glad to help out.
Change of Plans: I won’t be able to continue on with the April Challenge as I’ve just won this from Playing Appreciated
Since I’ve won it from Playing Appreciated, I have to start playing the game within a month of winning it. And I haven’t finished the first game either so I’ll be focusing on those two titles for the time being. Thanks to Elvidur for taking the time to challenge me and to the folks who made this event possible. My progress so far with the April Challenge:
Edit: The playtime on 30 Impossible Levels is a lie! I played it offline for about an hour before I uninstalled it.
Hello everyone. I’ve been here for a while but it’s only been lately that I’ve really been using the site and this is my first post. I’m not too good with reviews so I’ll try to keep these really short.
April Challenge So Far
Pretty good game so far. Feels good to have a highly anticipated AAA title actually deliver. A bit too early to really judge the story but it’s definitely getting interesting and the combat’s entertaining. Soundtrack’s also lovely. The only thing I’d complain about has nothing to do with the game itself but the PC port. There are a few minor issues, and one or two that are actually troublesome but I don’t think that’s enough to diminish from the experience the game has to offer. Looking forward to playing more of this throughout the month.
A decent first-person shooter. I’m not a big fan of FPS so I wasn’t too stoked about this. The thing I appreciate though is that for quite a bit of the game you have the option of stealth which I personally prefer over FPS. The story’s decent so far with nice cinematic cut-scenes. To sum up, Nazis take over the world after WWII so the protagonist goes on a Nazi-killing rampage.
This game definitely lives up to its title although definitely not in the sense the dev intended. The game isn’t really hard, it’s just that because of glitches in the game it gives the illusion of difficulty and you die a lot in situations where you shouldn’t have. I mean the dev themselves have acknowledges this and have added a disclaimer at the beginning of the game that states that the game is still a(n abandoned) work in progress and has a lot of issues. I don’t think I’ll be spending anymore time with this game in its current state.
Btw, I only played this game offline, thus the 0 minutes of playtime.
If you wanna know what this game’s like, imagine the older mario games except with worse game mechanics. That being said, some children may find this game entertaining. Unlike 30 Impossible Levels, I didn’t instantly uninstall it after trying it so I may give it another shot later on in the month.
This game was a bit of a surprise at it was definitely better than I expected it to be. Fun game all around with a decent soundtrack. Looking forward to playing more of this throughout the month.
