The Norwood Suite

Cool-looking Quirky Won on SteamGifts

I won this on SteamGifts from Blue Lightning and am playing it now for Challenge Me! I played the dev's semi-related first game, Off Peak, a while ago to be prepared.

You basically walk around doing small favors that consist of bringing items or doing a small puzzle. The environment is visually stimulating, and there are hidden rooms you can find. The dev responded with an explaination of the end (as well as the story overall) here.

Alan Wake

French Voice Acting Halloween and Horror Literary Ties USA

I was challenged to play this a few months ago but failed. I previously beat this on a console when it came out. Honestly, both times I found the game boring, and everything felt long. Really, really long. Sure, there are some unique aspects with the flashlight and light in general, but it's still the generic "go along a path and kill the enemies and look out for some random collectibles" shooter.

To the Moon

Good Reads Time Travel

A current Challenge Me! game. It also counts for the monthly theme, since I left it unfinished for years. I think I was bored by the repetitive task of finding the memory orbs in each scene in the first act, especially since sometimes I was looking around for a while to find them all. In the end, the game had a worthwhile story that presented an interesting scenario. I hear an anime film based on this game is being made.

Glad you liked To the Moon in the end. Finding memory links can be boring and repetitive yes, especially if it’s hidden and you couldn’t find the last one(like the carnival one). The story just makes everything worth it tho imo. x3 There’s a sequel called Finding Paradise. If you’re interested you should check it out! Compared to To the Moon, it improved on gameplay a little bit, but the story is less relatable on a general scale and some people thinks that it’s inferior to To the Moon. Personally, I relate to it just as much with To the Moon, although objectively speaking it has worse story.

I finished Bioshock Infinite last week and am playing the DLC now. I like to post games in groups of 3, so I’m not sure when I’ll post. I think Infinite and the first Bioshock (didn’t play the 2nd) are good games despite me not liking their main genre (shooter). I got about halfway through Alter Ego – it’s kind of funny, not bad, with fairly logical solutions. I didn’t play Borderlands, but that’s okay because I played that when it came out. I remember enjoying it. In TIS I think I’ve done about 1/4 of the puzzles – if I go too fast on that I’ll just resort to cheating for everything, lol.

Nice progress~I also think the Bioshock series are quite nice. I only played like a little bit back in high school on my friend’s laptop, but it was fun. Also yeah, it’s the same for me with TIS. There are also those achievements that I for a million years wouldn’t have think of the solution, so I just resort to cheatinglooking up a guide instead. xD Though I will always do them myself the first time. :3
