Im going to try doing monthly posts instead of weekly since I finally noted that save button so I can build as I go!… might end up on bi-weekly if I feel the monthly ones get to long.

only volume 4 left… before the big pit of despair known as waiting for volume 5

there are some gameplay elements that aren't great here(mainly the "sailing" and the robot asking we done can I teleport us out being semi random and not forceable but overall I enjoyed this.

I have my complaints… to much back and forth and some things necessary for progress are hard to see(even when using button to make interactable things flash), but overall I enjoyed it.

I am never playing a game where you play as a snake again.
anyone have the number for a therapist that specializes in snake pass related cases?

Time for NG+ I suppose, 9.9/10 game.

ok… this game stole my attention… I intended to slowly chip away at it over a couple months as it is my POP very long game…. here I am a few days over 2 weeks with it 100% completed.
Base game and Legends DLC content(well… ignoring NG+) on Warlord for my blind playthrough.

if you have played any Fire Emblem game and loved them this game is 100% worth your money and time.

NG+ has some pretty neat looking customization options to make a playthrough harder(and a few things for easier, but most of it is geared towards making it more difficult). Debating what I want to do for my NG+ run… turn the options to slightly easier but play on ludicrous? turn the difficulty up and do another warlord run? The choices

now… to go finish the black eagles routes in Fire Emblem 3 houses(im post timeskip church route… need to do the other route on max difficulty to.)

ancient SG win… from late 2013 finally played.
simple puzzle game, although even the hardest levels weren't that hard, only one really gave me a challenge and that was more a visibility of the level issue that the puzzle design.

apparently there was a key command for in extreme mode… to turn those 8hr waits into 5 seconds… I discovered it to late.

loved this… made me cry some(hit a bit close to home on some things), and since it took place in the US… I knew the locations(haven't visited them IRL yet though… some are on my list to visit)!

waiting on the story DLC to go on sale to truly be completed… but well its not on sale at the time of this review

I enjoyed my first playthrough quite a bit, and the questlines for everyone on the 2nd/3rd… didn't really enjoy the overly similar/repeat stuff in each run.

in proper VN fashion, follow a choice guide and always 100% where reasonable(glares at highway blossoms 1 real world week to do without time skip for a single achievement)

Adabana Odd Tales

Note: none of my screenshots really spoil anything, just shows off the amazing art this game has.

I feel like really saying anything about the story will spoil it, especially after having seen the endings. I would follow the route guide in the community hub(normal ending first, then bad, then true ending), it definitely felt the best way to experience the great story.

I definitely have my complaints about this game….
"you are in a mission so you cannot manually save", drifting while unlocked fairly early… is not early enough… combat is far less enjoyable before you get the ability to drift or a combat rite… to name a couple.
but the story is good, overall gameplay was fun and I had a great time… no idea how I was beating HLTB time for main story… when I did basically everything.

Thanks secret santa… I probably wouldn't have picked this up any time soon on my own. Would consider 100%ing... if a couple achievements weren't hella grindy

unfortunately my first abandonment of the month. Feels bad as it is a win to.
this game is a tough precision/puzzle platformer with awkward controls(I mean your playing as a frog!),

its normal for me to not finish precision platformers because of skill checks that I don't want to put the time in to master… usually closer to 2/3 through the game(like Celeste it was in chapter 6 or so where I started to struggle and used accessibility mode to finish it)… but here it was in chapter 4 of 20… which is closer to 20% through the game…. I shouldn't be skill checked so hard so early, especially when you know what to do… but executing it takes forever.

game has voice acting when you run into NPC's… but I don't find it very good(might be intentional as its not humans talking), personally would rather just text over what is in the game.

if you love precision+puzzle platformers you would probably still enjoy this game.

this a neat racing game… I never did actual races…. just the "story" mode(more of a tutorial+story for the game, bit different than what I was expecting. I enjoyed the challenge that alot of the levels had.

fast paced requiring somewhat precise jumps/rotations and other tricks to navigate the courses, you will at many times have to do a jump and rotate 90-180 degrees to get on the track. also has good visuals. Game also features custom levels

its not what I am looking for out of my racing game that I want to lock in as my racer of choice, so not doing the harder campaign mode or races against AI and such.

technical problems

I like the visual style, and it appears each character has their own story mode(even if its a minimal story)…
but I have a problem making this unplayable… the game stops recognizing controller input after 1-3 minutes… both my wireless xbox elite series 2 controller(via BT) and my old official wired 360 controller. Anyone know a solution? Would rather not have another win in won't play because of technical issues.

SOULS

Auto mode does not work…. Well it does… for one paragraph after it's enabled making it pointless.

translation : acceptable… but it needs a native English speaker to really pass over it for notable improvement, quite a few grammar, sentence structure(words need to be in different positions in the sentence here and there)… there was a line or two I wasn’t sure what it was trying to say at all but I believe I could figure it out with the context of everything else. The DLC/bonus chapter ANOTHER SOULS has NO English translation(so I can't decide if I should have this marked as beaten or completed :/). No character has a proper name in this(at least in English).

Visuals: not good enough imo, there is a mix of real life photos that appear to have been put through a filter and some ok artwork… and a select few very good pieces of art(screenshotted).

Audio: music is fine…. Some of the SFX added is fine, The rest is … disappointing,,, for example… background chatter? Loops after a few seconds(like 5)… yea other VN’s loop things like that to… but they loop it after 30+ seconds…. What makes it worse that it’s playing for many minutes of reading straight… making me not just want but to actually mute the audio while I read.

Story: Good, not great, I did enjoy it

Overall: do not recommend it unless you enjoy light novels, as this does not really take advantage of the visual element VN’s have. Also the bonus chapter not being translated(it does appear this was added much later than launch). If you can read the Chinese languages it supports it might be even better.

Its goofy.
I have taken all the ladies to prom so far.
plan to play more casually in the future, this isn't something I can sit and do a ton of at once(thanks ADHD).

Trent

Ha! If you get any tips for therapists that specializes in snake pass related cases, please send them my way! I couldn’t even finish it.

Carenard

I found one, for some reason they called him a cashier and the place was called a liquor store.
although he didn’t seem to be a specialist, just drink this in large quantities.

Trent

I’ll have to look into this “liquor store” you speak of. Thank you for the sagacious advice.

Zelrune

Congratulations on your assassinations!! ᓚᘏᗢ
I have not yet discovered the save button. It’s been MIA for 2 years, rip.
I loved all your screenshots of Adabana Odd Tales, they were so mesmerizing and colorful! Are you excited to play any particular game in February?

Carenard

looks like the save feature might be part of the BLAEO+ script which I added to get times for people who didn’t sort their lists.

as for what I am excited for… I am always excited for more Nekopara(vol 4 is next, the pit of despair of waiting for Vol 5 is coming though).
Days Gone is going to eat into my time this month(it isn’t one of the super high interest games, but its a unbundled AAA game… I shouldn’t let it sit for a year+ before starting that win)
