Alright. May is in the books. Wrapped up New Vegas, caught up on some curator licenses from way back when, got sucked into Balatro, and played a few very memorable games (The Quiet Apocalypse, Lunacid, Dread Delusion). I also played a fair amount of Palworld. It’s definitely fun. I will revisit it when it exits early access.

How was the quiet apocalypse? I’m always interested in a good walking sim but I’ve heard it has annoying checkpoints and no manual save system, so I didn’t pick it up.
Also, woah! Sandland! I wasn’t super sure about it until I saw the trailer, it sounds pretty cool! How are you liking it?

Sand Land is both cool and mid. Taken as an anime season, it’s kinda awesome. The story is fun and funny. I find myself chuckling often. Graphics are a cool variation on cel shading. Taken as a game, it’s pretty meh. The gameplay is a rehash (mostly) of a lot of other stuff. Definitely a serviceable game, but not really noteworthy. IMO. I think it’s not worth $60. That’s more about the hype over the creator and his untimely death. I think $30 or less would be more appropriate.

I really liked The Quiet Apocalypse. But, the criticisms are kinda true. There are no manual saves. The game saves anytime you enter a building, and at a few moments outdoors. But, there are large stretches in between some areas and you might have to walk for twenty minutes to get to the next save spot. You need some patience playing this one. The story is one that will be on my mind for a long time though. I thought it was very interesting and it does a great job of presenting a few different story arcs that all tie together in kinda surprising fashion.
